Supermono European Cup at Hockenheim (Germany)

Start Supermono

The circuit of Hockenheim, in Germany, hosted the last round of the Supermono European Cup.
In race one at the start the pole position rider Lukas Wimmer (AUT) took the lead before Jerry van de Bunt (NED).

A good position at the end of race one this weekend would guarantee van de Bunt the European Cup title, so everybody expected he would ride safely, even if among the top riders. Which he did not do. Ezequiel Iturrioz (ARG) started from the 3rd place on the grid and during lap 7, when Josef Frauenschuh (AUT) had to retire, due to technical problems when he was second, Iturrioz gained one position and after overtaking Lukas Wimmer won the race, with Jerry van de Bunt in 2nd and David Legalle (FRA) in 3rd place. With his 2nd place, van de Bunt won the Supermono European Cup, with one race to go.
In race2 Ezequiel Iturrioz was the leader at the start but the fight with Arie Vos and Josef Frauenschuh started at once. They switched positions several times and at the end Ezequiel Iturrioz won the race before Josef Frauenschuh. Third place took David Legalle in front of Arie Vos. The series winner Jerry van de Bunt used this race to test a new motorcycle and he confirmed to be fast, finished at the fifth place.
