SuperEnduro Cup:
Xavier Leon pushed all the way by Wieckowski at round one in Poland

The year is not finished yet but the 2024 season already took off with the first round of the SuperEnduro Cup.

The first event of the series took place in Kraków, Poland. A very demanding track greeted the riders: it might have been deep snow outside the Tauron Arena but inside the dirt was soft, sandy and typical of the Polish organisers.

One lap wasn’t too much of a problem on the technical track but ticking off the laps, holding on through the two rock sections, log, tyres and the up-and-over bridge confirmation was a real recipe for arm pump and high heart rates.

Once the racing got underway Maciej Wieckowski (GasGas) grabbed the first European final win but with second and then the victory in final two, veteran Xavier Leon (GasGas) claimed the overall for the night. The Spanish rider won this first round ahead of home heroes Wieckowski, who settled for the second position, and Hubert Zbikowki (KTM), who grabbed the third step of the podium.

The top five was completed by Alessandro Azzalini (GasGas) from Italy and Sergiu Grecu (KTM) from Romania.

Now a small break before the next rounds:  January 06th in Germany, 20th January in Romania and 03rd February in Hungary.
