Sidecarcross and Quadcross of European Nations at Cingoli (Italy)

Today the qualifications for tomorrow’s races in the Sidecarcross of European Nations and the Quadcross of European Nations were held on the beautiful and perfectly prepared track at Cingoli, in Italy.

The sidecar qualification required a 40 minute timed session because there were less than 10 teams present. The Netherlands team posted the 2nd and 3rd fastest times, which gives them pole position for tomorrow’s races. With the 1st and 7th fastest times, France finished as 2nd best team with Belgium in 3rd place with 6th and 8th fastest times. The Great Britain team will start in 4th position with 9th and 11th fastest times.
In the Quadcross of Nations, there were 3 races, one for each team rider, which were totally dominated by USA team. Each of their 3 riders easily won their individual qualification race showing riding skills never seen in Europe. The French team was second with a 2nd and 3rd place while the home Nation, Italy, finished in 3rd place with a 2nd and 5th position in their races. The Irish team finished in a very creditable 4th place with 3rd and 4th positions.
Now 15 quad teams are qualified for tomorrow’s championship races out of the 17 present, including a team from Australia in 11th place and a team from Argentina in 10th place.

In the press conference this evening team USA riders, Thomas Porter Brown, Joel Hetrick, Chad Wienen and the team manager Mark Baldwin highly praised the organisation of this event and described the track “awesome with its elevation changes and the perfect preparation”.
