Second round of Junior, S3, Open Supermoto EC in Pleven

A bright sunshine and summer temperatures welcomed last weekend all the participants of the second round of the 2012 UEM European Championship Supermoto in Pleven (Bulgaria).

The event has been characterized by a very good number of riders, especially in the Junior Class with 22.

In SM Junior Class, perfect race and victory for the Bulgarian rider Hakan Halmi (KTM) who took pole position on Saturday and two first places on Sunday, on the second place of the podium we found the Turkish red plate Harun Cabuk (HONDA) who collected two second positions in both the heats followed by the Bulgarian rider Veselin Ivanov (HONDA) with two third places. The provisional leadership of the Championship remain in the hands of Cabuk but just with a vantage of 6 points on Halmi.

In S3 class, the Turkish rider Mehmet Celik (KTM) finishing both the heat in first position won the race in front of the Bulgarian rider Borislav Stomeinov (KTM) (3-2) and the Turkish Uzay Bengic (KAWASAKI) (2-4). Celik is the new provisional leader of the championship, second Stomeinov.

In OPEN class, unlucky race for the Bulgarian rider Karanyotov (KTM) who after the pole position and the victory in the first heat had to retire in the final heat because of a problem to his rear wheel. The winner of the race with one second and one first position is the Bulgarian rider Alexander Georgiev (KTM) followed by two others Bulgarian riders Rosen Tonchev (KTM) and Georgi Gochev (KTM). Georgiev is the new leader of the Championship (83 p.) with five points of vantage in front of Karanyotov and the Turkish Ata Nurkan seconds with the same points.

The next event is scheduled for 9th of September in Vransko (Slovenia).
