The last and final round of the European Supermoto Championship 2016 SM Junior, S3 and Open was held this weekend in the circuit of “Dolna Mitropolia” in Pleven, Bulgaria, in front of around 1500 spectators in two days.

As always, the facility in Pleven offered perfect circuit and racing conditions for the riders. The weekend had sunny, dry, windy and freezy conditions, with cold weather during the races on Sunday, and dry race condition.
The fight for the first place was all Bulgarian and performed by Dimitar Petrov  and Kristian Ivanov, both on KTM 85cc, too. Malinov had no luck this time during Race 1:  he crashed and finished in 3rd place in front of Viktor Neychev; in Race 2 Malinov lost the start and finished at the 4th place in the overall standings.
In the 65cc, the Turkish rider Omer Utku Kurpuz (KTM) had a difficult fight with fellow capacity riders, but finally crossed the finish line first.
In the S3 category, the reigning champion Hakan Halmi (KTM, 250cc 4T) proved to be the most experienced rider and took double win in Pleven. Next to him on the podium two riders from Bulgaria – Alex Dimitrov and Slavomir Ivanov, both on KTM.
In the Open category, Alexander Georgiev (KTM, 450cc 4T) won Race 1, but after a great fight in Race 2 Yanko Tashev (TM, 450cc 4T) finished in front of Georgiev and gained the win. Podium was completed by Veselin Ivanov (Suzuki, RMZ450cc 4T).
