European Snowcross Championship: the Final in Russia

Demino 13 Day 2 LowThe fourth and last round of European Snowcross Championship was held today in Demino, Russia, with two final heats which were broadcast in live-streaming.

 

After the double win of Saturday’s races, Russian rider Dmitry Sklyarov did not manage to repeat his successful series in today’s round.

In the first heat Denis Ryazantcev, from Russia, gained the leadership from the start, and held it for the first 12 minutes, but then he was passed by Estonian Kaur Tiisler who won the race. Dmitry Sklyarov finished in third position after 15 minutes +1 lap.

In the second race (which was also the last of the European Championship) Estonian Kaur Tiisler took a good start. In the 6th lap he crashed and and lost several positions, but today he was the fastest rider on track and at the end he managed to gain again the front of the race. He won the heat in front of Russian riders Denis Ryazantcev and Evgeniy Martiuchenko. Fredrik Kirkhus (NOR) was the 4th fastest rider in this heat. Ole-Herman Hagen Sjøgren from Norway ended in 6th position but it was enough for him to win the European Snowcross Championship 2015.

European Snowcross Championship Final Standings:

1. Ole-Herman Hagen Sjøgren, Norway 162 points

2. Kaur Tiisler, Estonia 150 points

3. Fredrik Kirkhus, Norway 150 points
