European Motocross Championship 65-85-Open 1st round in Brezice – The races

 

20150328 SLO MX EP Q Prilipe 007The beautiful track of Brezice, in Slovenia, hosted the first round of the European Supermoto Championship. Fine weather, with sunshine and warm temperatures, up to 16 degrees in the afternoon, for an agreeable beautiful racing day with about 3.000 spectators.

EMX 65
In the first heat, holeshot of French rider Florian Miot, who managed to win the race in front of two Spanish young riders: Edgar Canet and Raul Sanchez.
The second heat was a copy of the first. The winner of the first race winner Florian Miot took again holeshot. At the start the French rider Tejy Krismann, who closed the first heat in fourth position, was in 2nd place but he made a mistake and was found himself at the end of the group. Spanish riders Canet and Sanchez followed in 2nd and 3th position. This will also be the overall podium fort his weekend.

EMX 85
The 1st race started with a holeshot of Rene Hofer from Austria. He took the lead and started to earn a bit of gap. The qualifying winner Brian Moreau Strubhart crashed in the second corner after the start. After one lap he was already in 13th position.
During the race Hofer passed Spanish Oliver and Moreau Strubhart was working his way up to the front. With 2 minutes to race, the French rider was passed by Hofer, who stayed in front until 3 corners before the end of the race, which at the end was won by Moreau Strubhart before Hofer and Oliver.
In the 2nd heat the holeshot was signed by French Thibauld Benistant, who qualified 2nd on Saturday. He was passed almost immediatly by Moreau Strubhart, who gained advantage in front of Austrian Rene Hofer and French Thibauld Benistant. The Spanish Rene Oliver was in 4th position until he made a mistake. The race ended with Brian Moreau Strubhart in front of Hofer and Benistant. The over all podium sees the French Strubhart-Moreau on the first step, and the Austrians Hofer and Stauffer on the side steps.

EMX OPEN
In the first heat holeshot of homerider Klemen Gercar before the two Irt brothers. In the first lap Peter Irt had techical problems, had to return to the mechanic area and came out last. His brother Jernej Irt crashed and both were out of the race in the beginning. Meanwhile Gercar lead the pack before Petr Bartos and Saso Kragelj. After a mistake of the latter, Petr Michalec got the 3th position. Kragelj will finish 4th before Ukrainian Evgeni Tyletski.
The 2nd heat started without Jerney Irt and again with a holeshot of Klemen Gercar. It was a start – finish win and for sure he took the overall result. Gercar lead in front of Petr Bartos, Saso Kragelj, Peter Irt and Petr Michalec. After 15 minutes Irt passed Kragelj and shortly later also Michalec passed Kragelj, and the race ended with Gercar in front of Bartos and Peter Irt.
In the overall standing homerider Klemen Gercar is the winner, with Czeck riders Petr Bartos in second and Petr Michalec in third.
