European Motocross 65cc and 85cc SE Second round in Bulgaria – 2nd day

Today the city of Troyan in Bulgaria hosted the final races of the second round of EMX 65cc and 85cc South East Championships. It was a sunny day and the races were spectacular.

EMX 85cc – 1st race  
After qualifying second, Croatien Hranic took the holeshot. Yesterday’s winner and homerider Dimitrov finished in second position and Bulgarian Georgiev in third. Qualification was respected during the race. Hranic and Dimitrov made a good show: close racing during the 20 minutes plus 2 laps, swapping positions a few times. The final winnerz of the race was Hranic followed at 3” by Dimitrov and by Georgiev.

EMX 85cc – 2nd race
On a dry and fast track, 7.000 spectators were witnesses of the holeshot of homerider Dimitrov before Hranic and Georgiev. What seemed to be a start to finish winning race for Dimitrov stopped after 17’ when he made a small mistake. Croatien Hranic who was never further than 5” went to first place and stayed there untill the finish. Both races had the same podium, which means that the overall day standings give us on the first place Hranic before Dimitrov and third Georgiev. In the championship standing Hranic is still the leader, Dimitov overtakes for 1 point Georgiev in second place.

EMX 65cc – 1st race
Holeshot by yesterday’s second, the Bulgarian rider Ivanov. After 1st lap Moldavian Cuharciuc took the lead before Ivanov, Roumanian Popovici, Bulgarian Grozdanov and the Greek Sagmalis (the top 5 in yesterday’s qualification race). What no one expected was that in two laps time after 5’ of racing this top 5 looked totally different after the crashes of the leader, of the third and later new leader Ivanov. At the finish the Bulgarian Grozdanov was first ahead of Sagmalis and Cuharciuc who arrived missing one footrest. After the crash Roumanian Popovici finished 5th and Ivanov in 10th position.

EMX 65 cc – 2nd race
Holeshot of first race winner Grozdanov in front of Ivanov and Cuharciuc . After one lap the Moldavian Cuharciuc was leading before Ivanov, Grozdanov, Sagmalis and Popovici. In the first race crashes changed positions, but in the second race the positions of the first lap were maintained up to the end of the race.
The final day result shows at the first place this weekend Igor Cuharciuc from Moldavia, before Dimitar Grozdanov who has the same points as Greek Antonios Sagmalis.
In the overall standings we find the Greek Sagmalis in front of Grozdanov and Ivanov with only a difference of 3 points.
