The Spanish Alfredo Gomez and Mario Roman were the biggest stars of the event and serious contenders to win this first edition of the race, together with the German Marcus Kehr, a rider who also has international experience. Also Portuguese riders are were able to race for the top positions, especially Henrique Nogueira, fast and experienced enough to bother best rated international drivers.
The proof was closed and its center park located in the heart of Valongo, in Largo Centennial, with the prize-giving ceremony at the Municipal Library.
The prologue took place on Saturday in the early afternoon, in an urban and spectacular layout.
The next day the first group of riders started at 11 am, facing a 10 kilometers route consecutively for three hours. A course designed in the Sierra de Valongo, higher level of difficulty with typical passages of Extreme Enduro as waterways, trialeiras areas and other specific obstacles of this kind.
The winner of the prologo was Alfredo Gomez, on Husqvarna, who managed to confirm his ability in the next day, winning in front of Mario Roman and of Joé Juan Bernabeu.
