European Supermono Championship at Oschersleben (Germany)

  The fourth round of the European Supermono Championship was held this weekend at Oschersleben, in Germany, in front of around 20.000 people, in a sunny, sometimes cloudy, day, with a temperature of around 30°C.      Incredible fast in qualifying, Jerry van de Bunt (NED) on a Happeck Rotax 449, topped the session with the time of 1.34.711, more than 1.1 second faster than Lukas Wimmer from Austria, second in qualifying. Race 1 was interrupted at the 12th lap because of Jordy Walters’crash. The winner was Josef Frauenschuh from Austria in front of his compatriot Lukas Wimmer and of Arie Vos from The Netherlands.The poleman van de Bunt had problems in keeping the pace of the leader and at the finish line he was 6th. HONDA 150 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP AT ASSEN (THE NETHERLANDS) – DAY 2

The 2016 season of the Honda 150 European Championship saw the title decided in the last race, where Emil Weckman became the first rider to win the European 150 title in consecutive years. The talented Finn left himself with all the work to do on his #1 CRF150R in the final race after a DNF in Saturday’s race one, where his championship lead was cut from 32 points to 10. Norway’s Hakon Fredriksen, who held the red plate briefly at the start of the season, was looking strong but was unable to catch Weckman. Fredriksen was also under pressure from yesterday’s moto winner Mack Bouwense, a wildcard rider for this round, and Leopold Ambjornson, who had moved into third place in the championship standings following the first race on the man-made sand track. EUROPEAN MOTO2 AND SUPERBIKE AT PORTIMAO (PORTUGAL) – DAY 2

With 50 points from his two wins in Portugal, Steven Odendaal (RSA-Kalex, in photo1) is the new Moto2 European Championship champion, overtaking Edgar Pons with just two races remaining in the championship. Carmelo Morales (SPA-Yamaha, in photo2) also won both races in Superbike. Steven Odendaal consolidated his hold on the championship title in the first Moto2 European Championship race, winning in a thrilling climax when he took Tetsuta Nagashima (JPN-Kalex) on the last corner. Earlier, the South African AGR Team rider started well to lead the race followed by the Japanese poleman, while Alan Techer (FRA-NTS T Pro) held third under pressure from Augusto Fernández (SPA-Tech3) and Iker Lecuona (SPA- Kalex). The Valencian Race Experience rider and his friend and Targobank CNS Motorsport rival fought it out with Alan Techer for the last slot on the podium. European Moto2 and Superbike at Portimao (Portugal) – Day 1

Tetsuta Nagashima (JPN-Kalex) in Moto2 and Carmelo Morales (SPA-Yamaha) in Superbike were the fastest riders in qualifying sessions and will head the starting grids of their respective categories in this weekend’s  sixth round of the FIM CEV Repsol at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. In Moto2, Tetsuta Nagashima (JPN-Kalex, in photo1) improved on Steven Odendaal’s (RSA-Kalex) best lap in the first qualifying session to win his second pole position in a time of 1'45.602. The Japanese Ajo Motorsport Academy rider is doing his utmost to bring more excitement to the Moto2 European Championship category.If Steven Odendaal, who finished the qualifying session 0.262 behind the pole, wins both races in Portugal he will be proclaimed champion with only two races remaining. However, the AGR Team rider, who will ride as wild card in the Movistar Grand Prix of Aragón at MotorLand Aragón, said yesterday that he has set aside the idea

Mack Bouwense (in the photo)  shined in the soft sand of home-round Assen to take the race one victory, while defending champion Emil Weckman failed to score a point in the penultimate race of the season. Bouwense (NED), a wildcard rider for this event, was strong out of the start gates aboard his CRF150R taking the holeshot ahead of Weckman (FIN). The young Finn quickly regained the lead with Bouwense lapping slightly quicker over the first couple of laps. However, the defending champion soon started to pull away and earn himself a comfortable lead.A small incident for Bouwense dropped him to fourth, but the home-rider was soon able to make his way back into second to try and close down the flying Finn. With only a few laps to go, an incident for Weckman saw him unable to finish the race, handing the race lead to Bouwense. A consistent, strong
