Yesterday the semifinal for the Team Speedway U21 European Championship was held at the track of Plzen (CZE). Unfortunately the nominated team of Russia had withdrawn and had to be replaced by a mixed European squad. Together with teams coming from Finland, Sweden and the host nation Czech Republic they were racing for the last qualification place for the final.
During the whole meeting a close fight was going on between Czech Republic and Sweden which saw the team of Czech Republic win on 45 points, just 2 points ahead of 2nd placed team Sweden on 43 points. Team Finland finished 3rd on 26 points and Team Euro with 4 points on 4th place. The spectators could see ambitious speedway youngsters fighting for their team and country against each other. This caused some accidents but without any injuries to the riders concerned.
The team of Czech Repulic will now complete the grid of the Speedway Team U21 European Championship Final, that will be held at the German track of Herxheim on 28.06.2014. The final is scheduled on the 28th of June in Herxheim (Germany).
