The Spanish rider Miquel Gelabert (Sherco), who recently took part also to the British GP of the world championship, will do his best to defend his smooth advantage as leader of the 2016 FIM Europe Trial Championship. Rounds #4 and #5 are scheduled for the upcoming weekend in Sokolov, Czech Republic.
To contest him, first of all Dan Peace (Gas Gas) coming from constantly upgrading results in the lately world rounds, so in great form. Between the two there are just 5 points and Peace can count on two victories against the only one in the Spaniard’s bag. Not too distant another English rider, Iwan Roberts (Beta) who still has all the chances to play nasty tricks on the two favorites.
The two days of competitions will be held in a new venue. After many years in which Tanvald was automatically associated to the European round in Czech Republic, this time the Trial circus will move on the extreme opposite of the nation. Sokolov is in the Czech mountains, close to the German border.
Besides the European top Class, on schedule the Junior class, too, which is rich of interest: we shall certainly assist to another stubborn fight between British Jack Peace (Gas Gas), Dan’s brother, tailgated by two Italians: Luca Corvi (Scorpa) and Sergio Piardi (Beta). Peace won all the previous rounds and wants to end in advance the run for the title.
Three victories for German Markus Kipp (Beta) in Over 40 class, too. In case of one more win, he will become mathematically European champion.
As tradition there will be two more classes – the International I and International II for almost all local riders, who do not take part to the European championship standings.
