European Quadcross Championship in Kivioli (Estonia)

quads start lowIn the weekend of 1st and 2nd of August the fifth round ot the European Quad Motocross Championship was held in Kiviõli (Estonia) and organised by SA Kiviõli Seiklusturismi Keskus.

Saturday the weather forecast promised sunny and dry day, but instead of it was heavy rain. 1st and 2nd Free Practice were held in scheduled time, and the Qualifying Practice went on with an half hour delay.
The fastest were Edgars Mengels (LAT), Mike van Grinsven (NED) and Priit Järvloo (EST). Sunday morning, in sunny weather, also the Warm Up confirmed that Edgars Mengels and Mike van Grindsven still were the fastest riders. In the first race Mike van Grinsven dominated from the start, and was followed by Edgars Mengels. When Grinsven got technical problems, Mengels took the lead on the 10th lap. He controlled the last 8 laps up to the victory with a gap of 32 seconds on Zdenek Polacek (CZE) and Priit Järvloo.

In the second race Mike van Grinsven led from start to finish; the second place was for Edgars Mengels, 14 seconds behind. Third place in this heat was for Russian rider Vlasov Daniil.

The overall standing for this event shows Edgars Mengelis on the first place, followed by Zdenek Polacek and Priit Järvloo (in the photo).
