EMX 65 and 85 NW at Imatra (Finland)

Start EMX85 2In the weekend of 28-29 May the last event of North West European Motocross 65 and 85 cc Championship was held in Imatra (Finland), organised by Imatran Moottorikerho R.Y.

Both racing days benefitted from light cloudy weather, which allowed 500 spectators to watch the event live in the track.
After the technical control there were 22 riders in the EMX65 class and 23 riders in the EMX85 class.

EMX65
The first heat of this class was won by Czech rider Adam Maj, 4 seconds before Tomas Pikart (also from Czech Republic) and 6 seconds before Dutch rider Bradley Mesters. The second heat was dominated by the Danish rider Mads Fredsoe, 11 seconds before Maximillian Werner (Germany) and 23 seconds before Kasimir Hindersson (Finland).
The overall standing for this event shows Maximillian Werner at the first place, followed by Adam Maj and Tomas Pikart.
The final standings for the NW zone in this class are: Liam Everts (BEL) 187 points, followed by Ivano Van Erp (NED), 174 points and Tomas Pikart (CZE), 136 points.

425 Casper Olsen NOR lowEMX85
The first heat was dominated by Swedish rider Emil Jönrup, who won with a gap of 25 seconds on Liam Hanström (SWE) and Norwegian “rookie” rider Casper Olsen (in the photo).
In the second heat it was again Emil Jönrup who led from start to finish, 7 seconds faster than Finnish rider Matias Vesterinen and of Casper Olsen.
In the overall Emil Jönrup is the winner before Casper Olsen and Matias Vesterinen.
The final standings for the NW zone in this class are: Emil Jönrup (SWE) 217 points, followed by Matias Vesterinen (FIN), 181 points and Rasmus Pedersen (DEN), 147 points.
