Honda’s 150 European Championship continues to seek out the talent of tomorrow in 2017

Photo @Youthstream   Honda will maintain the search for the talent of tomorrow in 2017 with the announcement that the Honda 150 European Championship will continue next year.The championship, which runs as a support series to MXGP, offers a complete development package for 11-14 year olds, nurturing them in the areas of riding style, bike setup, mentality, nutrition and fitness, as well as providing them with the ideal career springboard and familiarising them with racing on the World Championship stage. The winner will take a step up in the Honda Racing Family with a Honda-supported ride in the European 250 championship in 2018.As members of the Honda Racing Family in the World Motocross paddock, the aspiring youth riders will have invaluable access to workshops hosted by partners, sponsors and some of Honda’s MXGP stars. FIM Europe Tour-Assistant First Training Course at Honda Safety Center in Spain

FIM Europe cares more and more about Touring Motorcycling and for this reason has developed new programs including the Motorcyclists Friendly Hotels network and has just launched the first Tour-Assistant Training Course. The Course has the aim to have coordinated and standardized Tour-Assistant services all over Europe that were currently lacking. The first Course will be held on September 3rd at Honda Safety Center in Barcelona, Spain.Tour-Assistants have been be pre-selected by their respective National Member Federations according to the pre-qualification assessment check-list. The first group of 10 Tour-Assistant candidates will be provided with a one-day theoretical and practical riding training on Tour-Assistants' skills at Honda Safety Center. The instructors will be the chairman of the Touring Commission Nils Freivalds and two very experienced members of the Commission - Panagiotis Kalaitzis and Laurynas Baltrunas.At the end of the course, a certificate of attendance will be delivered to the participants who will

Prof. Marjan Olfers at the FIM Motocross World Championship in Assen

Prof. Marjan Olfers, one of the key contributers to FIM Europe Working Group on “Minimum Age for International Motorsport” has been invited by FIM Europe 1st Deputy President Martin de Graaff to attend the FIM Motocross World Championship in Assen, The Netherlands. Marjan Olfers is Professor of Sports and Law at the Free University in Amsterdam and is recognised as one of the world´s leading experts in this important scientific field.The above mentioned working group consists of representatives from European Federations, being experts in medical science, training and coaching. Prof. Fabio Pigozzi, Rector of the University of Rome “Foro Italico” delivered also an important part to the results of the working group.FIM Europe is organizing a successful Motocross Championship in the classes 65cc, 85cc and 125cc, as of the age of 8 years. The working group has not identified binding European legislation that would ban riders of this age from

On September 14th, at 12.00 at the Council Chamber "Giulio Marinozzi" of the University of Studies of Rome “Foro Italico”, a press conference will be held to present  the Advanced Course in Motorcycling Management, organized by the Foundation Foro Italico in collaboration with FIM Europe. The participation to the press conference is free and open to all interested. The course is a pilot project of FIM Europe with the intention of perfecting a format to make available to the European Motorcycle Federations and their respective Universities. The educational activities of the Course will be aimed at acquiring specific knowledge for the formation of a professional able to work effectively as Manager of a Motorcycle Team. Successful FIM Europe MXGP Academy at Assen (The Netherlands)

 For the last time this season, the FIM Europe MXGP Academy was active in Assen with the Academy for young riders. On Friday afternoon, just before the Motocross Grand Prix, the training sessions were held on the wonderfully prepared track, created on the famous TT-circuit. The riders and their parents enjoyed the program. The weather conditions were perfect and the atmosphere was good: these are the ingredients for a lot of fun and perfect training sessions. Fifteen young Dutch riders in the class 65 and 85cc were trained by John van de Berk and Jan Postema on a part of the circuit. The riders showed their enthusiasm for the opportunity to ride on this track, prior to the famous MXGP. One important session in the program was with the parents in the evening. Martin van Genderen (coordinator and trainer) and Jan Postema took care for this education program. The trainers
