Vorlicek dominates Supermoto S2 EC round in Palermo

The second round of the class S2 of the Supermoto European Championship was held today at the Sicilian track of Palermo (Italy).

In the first heat the Czech rider Petr VORLICEK (HONDA) confirmed his pole position of the Saturday making the hole shot, he managed the heat with wisdom obtaining also the fastest lap of the race. In second position finished Italian Edgardo BORELLA (YAMAHA) and third Mitchell-Thomas MALACHI (HONDA) from Great Britain who resisted in the last lap to the attacks of red plate Devon VERMUELEN (KTM) from Netherlands who finished fourth.

In the second heat the Czech rider Petr VORLICEK (HONDA) dominated the race from the start to the finish, second and third were the Italians Edgardo BORELLA (YAMAHA) and Diego MONTICELLI (HONDA) who made a fantastic overtake in the last lap. Noteworthy the retire of the Dutch red plate Devon VERMUELEN (KTM) who broke the engine of his bike five laps before the end of the heat when he was in third position.

In the third heat the same script with the Czech rider Petr VORLICEK (HONDA) and the Italian Edgardo BORELLA in the first two positions, third Diego MONTICELLI (HONDA) from Italy.

After the second round, thanks to the victory in the GP of Sicily, Petr VORLICEK lead the classification with 142 points, 24 points more than the second rider Edgardo BORELLA (118 p.), Devon VERMUELEN complete the provisional podium with 99 points.

Next event is scheduled to take place in Pleven (Bulgaria) on the 23rd and 24th of June.
