Third round of Trial EC in Krzezowice

aboutuemThe third round of the Trial European Championship was held this weekend in Krzeszowice (Poland). On the muddy sections due to a lot of rain dropped the day before and for almost fifty percent of the competition, the riders belonging to Italian team showed more and more to be prepared on this kind of terrain. At least to have had bad weather on many Italian rounds in their national championship improved their experience in this case.

Matteo Grattarola (Gas Gas) won the “queen” class dominating from the beginning. Even an exaggerate five at the last section of the first lap, given to him by a very strict observer just for having entered the section by foot, did not annoyed him. He kept his cool and in the second lap, he even increased his lead , to get his third win in a row. In second place, Italian Matteo Poli (Ossa) ahead of his country mate Giacomo Saleri (Beta). In the overall standing four Italian riders are occupying the first four places: Grattarola, Daniele Maurino (Ossa), Poli and Saleri.

In the Junior class an other dominance for the “Azzurri” riders. First win for Pietro Petrangeli (Beta), thanks to a good advantage taken in the first loop. Just one point behind, the current championship leader Francesco Cabrini (Beta), who took comfort for the missed victory, in having increased his lead in the overall standing. In third place Norwegian Sverre Lundevold, now second in the championship.

Great duel in the Over 40 between two ex-world rider. The victory went to Dutch Marc Reit (Beta) on Finnish Tommi Ahvala (Gas Gas). More than double the points of Dutch John Van Veelen (Sherco) who finished third. In this class the level of the sections was too high.

In the International class, two Polish brothers got the top podium positions: Michal and Jakub Lukaszczyk, both riding Sherco. In third Italian Michele Bosi (Beta).

The next round of the Trial European Championship will be held on the 19th of August in Tanvald (Czech Republic).
