Supermoto S4 and SM Junior European Championship

Supermoto S4 and SM Junior European Championship:
Alex Ruiz is the new S4 European Champion

The track of Castelletto di Branduzzo hosted an intense racing day which was full of emotions. Alex Ruiz Jemenez (L30 Racing TM Factory) was crowned Supermoto S4 European Champion, while in SM Junior Mathias Vetkin won the next to last event.

S4 Race 1
Alessandro Morosi (Gazza Racing Honda) stretched away at the front as the red lights blinked off and was followed by Kevin Vandi (L30 Racing TM Factory), who was not able to get the best out of his third position. Tough start also for Alex Ruiz Jemenez (L30 Racing TM Factory), who lost several positions after the start. There was a coup de théâtre after the second lap when the race directors awarded a 20-second time penalty to Morosi because of his disallowed start. Vandi and Morosi were the protagonists of a breathtaking battle for the lead of the race and switched positions almost at every corner. While Ruiz Jemenez, current Championship leader, was holding the third position and making up ground he was affected by a bad crash, which luckily did not lead to any physical injury but made him lose several positions. Morosi and Vandi were involved in a close battle for the leadership till the end of the race when the Gazza Racing rider was the first one to cross the finish line but his position dropped to the fourth one because of the time penalty. So Kevin Vandi took the victory and was followed by Kevin Zahorak (Husqvarna) and Loris Ford Dunn (Husqvarna), third.

S4 Race 2
Also the second and final moto of this engaging S4 European Championship was packed with emotions. Alex Ruiz Jemenez (L30 Racing TM Factory) was very fast at the start and grabbed the lead chased by Alessandro Morosi (Gazza Racing Honda) and Kevin Vandi (L30 Racing TM Factory), second and third respectively. Ruiz Jemenez and Morosi opened a gap over Vandi but the TM rider was awarded a time penalty for a false start and at that stage Morosi took the lead of the race and held it till the end of the moto. Alex Ruiz Jemenez had to push to keep a good margin and finish the race with the third position so that he could get the points he needed to win the Championship. Kevin Vandi was crowned race winner, followed by Alessandro Morosi and Kevin Zahorak (Husqvarna).
Alex Ruiz Jemenez took the victory of the S4 European Championship, the second spot went to Kevin Vandi and Kevin Zahorak was third.
