Kramolin prepares for the Sidecar and Quadcross of Nations

Kramolin prepares for end of season team event!

It’s back to Kramolin in the Czech Republic this coming weekend for the annual Sidecar and Quadcross of Nations tournament, and there is a real sense of excitement ahead of the event. The EMX Quad regulars are welcoming the all-conquering USA team back to do battle, whilst the FIM Sidecar Cross field includes the newly crowned 2022 Champions Etienne Bax and Ondrej Cermak. There will be a warm homecoming for the Czech passenger, celebrating his first world title.

No fewer than fifteen National sidecar teams are making the journey from the four corners of Europe stretching all the way from Estonia to France and all countries in between.

2022 champions Etienne Bax and Ondrej Cermak arrive flushed with success from last weekend in Germany, whilst runners-up Kert Varik and Lari Kunnas will be keen to set the record straight. Last year’s winners The Netherlands are once again favourites, but in a team event all members must play their parts.

Team Belgium includes Marvin Vanluchene and Robbie Bax who bowed out of his GP career officially last weekend in an emotional farewell.

Estonia too looks strong with Varik/Kunnas supported by Gordejev/Stupelis and Reesna/Nitsoo.

The Quad brigade is coming in force with seventeen teams of three, so expect four-wheeled fireworks, especially with the Americans back in town. In 2019, the USA team was sensational on their way to victory in Schwedt, with only Chad Wienen returning for more. His new team-mates Bryce Ford and Joel Hetrick will face stiff opposition from a few nations, with the Netherlands and Norway probably top of that list. Newly crowned EMX Quad Champion Kevin Saar leads the charge for Estonia, with arch-rival Chris Tveraen lining up alongside Joakim Granli and Lars Holmen for Norway. Rick Haverdil is the in-form Dutchman and there are two teams from the strong Czech contingent.

Mark McLernon and Dean Dillon are back for reigning champions Ireland who took the 2021 title by nine points from Italy.

With a line-up of this quality, the two days of racing in Kramolin will be a sight to behold.
