Motoball European Championship: let’s start the game!

From Saturday 15th to Saturday 22nd June the city of Morsch, Germany, is hosting the Motoball European Championship. This sport was born in in the mid-1930s: it is similar to football, but all players (except goalkeepers) are riding motorcycles, and the ball is much bigger.

Day 1

RUSSIA 3-2 FRANCE

In the first quarter Russia scored two goals and it looked like European title holders will have an easy game, but soon France fought back to 2-2, held all the game well, and only a beautiful 16 meters free-kick earned first victory and 3 points for Russia.

GERMANY 5-0 BELARUS

Host team started their game with an unbelievable fast attack and gave a real pleasure for full stadium of spectators. The very first counter attack and Manuel Fitterer scored one, then Jannis Schmitt added two in the first half, another in in the second. Even when Manuel Fitterer missed 11 m. penalty, Germans didn’t slow down and Justin Tichatschek scored fifth. A well-deserved and good start for the hosts.
