Last round of Supermoto EC in Jesolo (Italy)

fim europeThe last round of 214 FIM Europe Supermoto European championship took place in Jesolo (Italy). With three riders in battle for the 2014 championship title a tough battle was expected. And the expectations come true. Finn Toni Klem (KTM) set the best time in Time practice on saturday, with Italian Fabrizio Bartolini (Honda) just behind him. And both faster than championship leader, Finn Asseri Kingelin (Aprilia).

In race one there was a big battle in the first corners and Bartolini took the lead. On the second place was Klem and on third Slovenian Uros Nastran (TM). Two laps to go Nastran overtook Klem, who then crashed on the off road part, but still manage to pick up the bike and finished third, just in front of Kingelin.

So before the last race of the season difference between Klem and Bartolini was reduced to only 6 points. In the race 2 Klem was the one who takes the lead and didn’t gave opportunity to anyone to overtake him. Behind him was a big battle for second place betwen Bartolini and Nastran and two laps to go Nastran take second position.

The winner of the last event was Klem, ahead of Bartolini and on third spot finished Nastran on his last official race. But the title went to Kingelin, scoring only 2 points more than Bartolini in the Championship classification and one more than Klem.
