Today, Thursday 2nd December 2021, the FIM Europe General Assembly was held at the “Salle des Etoiles” of the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel in Monaco.
This General Assembly could not be held in July due to the cancellation of the Congress in Belgrade for the COVID-19 emergency. Thanks to the collaboration offered by the FIM, it was possible to organize this General Assembly in hybrid mode, with the participation of 37 FMNs out of a total of 46, 30 in attendance and 7 participants online.
In particular, this General Assembly took place in two distinct moments: the Ordinary, with the usual reports of the Management Council and the Auditors, and the Extraordinary, with the vote on the new Statute and By-Laws.
Among the essential moments of the Ordinary we can note the important welcome of the FIM President Mr Jorge Viegas with a passionate speech as a Founder on the future of FIM Europe, the reports of the President Mr Martin de Graaff, the 1st Deputy President and head of the Sporting Council Mr Michal Sikora, the 2nd Deputy President and head of the Beyond Sport Council Mr Silvio Manicardi, the Treasurer Mr Juhani Halme and the Chairman of the Auditors Mr Laurent Delbroek. A new Medical Code was also approved.
The celebration of three anniversaries of the founding of AMSS/Serbia (100 years), AMZS/Slovenia (100 years) and FMI/Italy (110 years), together with the presentation of the upcoming 2022 FIM Europe Congress in Bucharest concluded the Ordinary General Assembly.
The Extraordinary General Assembly saw the approval of the New Statutes and By-Laws which replaces the old ones, approved in Monte-Carlo in 2012, with numerous updates and rationalizations.
Special thanks go to the FIM President, the CEO Mr Françoise Emery, the Deputy CEO Mr Damiano Zamana and all the members of the FIM Staff, who actively collaborated in the realization of the FIM Europe General Assembly.
A last mention goes to the work carried out by the FIM Europe Staff, who can always count on resources that are small in number but of great value on the field.

Mr Martin de Graaff, FIM Europe President
“After the General Assembly, presented by videoconference in January from a Broadcasting Studio in Geneva, this was the best possibility to organize this General Assembly in Monaco in conjunction with the FIM GA and other meetings during the FIM Family event with the FIM Awards for the World Champions of 2020 and 2021. The day before the FIM General Assembly, FIM Europe organized its Assembly, so the Federations don’t have to travel two times. The attendance from our FMNs was good. The Management Council reported the financial situation, the Treasurer Juhani Halme and the Auditors presented positive reports, even in this difficult period. First Deputy President Michal Sikora presented the report on the sporting issues, Second Deputy President Silvio Manicardi presented current and future developments in the beyond-sporting items. An important point on the Agenda was the approval of the new Statutes and By-laws after the explanation of the changes and the replies on the Questions. The majority approved the Statutes. The next step is the implementation. A working group will study the changes in the Sporting Code following the new Statutes”.
