FIM Europe meets FIM Oceania

FIM Europe meets FIM Oceania

On 24th and 25th August at the FIM Europe General Secretariat in Fiumicino (ROME), a meeting on administrative and sporting issues was held between the Secretaries General of FIM Europe and FIM Oceania.
The relations between the administrations of the two CONUs have been strong for some time, with frequent contacts and interactions especially on licencing, insurance and sporting matters. In fact, there are many cases of participation in the European Championships of riders coming from other CONUs, mainly from Australia.

Alessandro Sambuco, FIM Europe Secretary General
“I am particularly happy to meet my colleague Simon Maas especially in this moment of getting back to some normality after the worst of COVID-19 pandemic last year. This is actually the first opportunity to have guests in our FIM Europe Forum, dedicated meeting space made available to FIM, FMNs, Partners and Sponsors. All the health and safety procedures for COVID-19 have obviously been implemented, including possession of the European Green Pass or the equivalent for other Continents. The sharing of virtuous procedures and the common search for solutions to contingent problems is an important occasion that I hope will soon involve my colleagues from the European FMNs and CONUs”.

Simon Maas, FIM Oceania Secretary General
“It is wonderful to be back in Europe and back to visit FIM Europe after over one year of delay due to the COVID-19 restrictions. The strong connection between FIM and the CONUs around the world is very important to FIM Oceania as we believe there is much to be learned and shared when we work together. My thanks to FIM Europe for the warm welcome and support. The creation of the FIM Europe Forum is a perfect office space to meet and work when on the other side of the world and visiting Italy. It is so wonderful to have a facility which is available to FMNs and CONUs which is professional and safe during these complicated times around the world”.
