EMX65, EMX85 and Women’s Championship at Esbjerg (Denmark) – Day 1

The first round of the EMX 65/65 European Championship of North West Zone and the EMX Women started in Dennmark on the sandy track of Esbjerg. The weather conditions were not stable, but some rain did not damage the track. In total, 144 riders signed up for the event: 41 of them in the 65cc class, 56 in the 85cc class and 23 riders in the Women class.
In a cold afternoon, with 10 degrees but dry conditions, the qualifying races took place.
The first qualifying race in the 85cc class was won by Kay de Wolf from The Netherlands with a lead of 4.68 seconds. The second place went to Belgian Liam Everts ahead of Dutch Scott Smulders. Leo Karlsson, in 18th position, was the last to qualify directly for the races on Sunday.


The second qualifying race in the 85cc class was won by Dutch Kay Karssemakers ahead of Danish William Kleemann and Dave Kooiker from The Netherlands.
In the qualifying race of the 65 class Dutch Bradley Mesters was the winner ahead of Vitezslav Marek from Czech Republic and Lotte Van Drunen from the Netherlands.
In the Women’s Championship, Danish Sara Andersen won the qualifying race ahead of Mathea Seleb from Norway and Shana van der Vlist from the Netherlands.
