EMX65 and 85 SE Europe in Haskovo (Bulgaria)

aboutuemThe fifth round of the EMX65 and EMX85 Motocross European Championship (South Eastern leg) was held yesterday in Haskovo (Bulgaria). Saturday welcomed the riders with sunny and hot weather, hard pack track for the practices and the qualifying race.

On Sunday, the weather conditions changed dramatically in the morning – non stop heavy rain during the whole day and low temperatures. The difficult weather conditions and the heavy mud on the track forced the organizers to cancel the second races for both classes EMX65 and EMX85.

However the first race of the EMX65 saw a victory of the current leader of the standings for the SE Zone – Tommaso Bertotto from Hungary (KTM), followed by the Moldovian Igor Cuharciuc (KTM) and third finished Dimitar Petrov from Bulgaria with KTM.

In class EMX85, the Romanian rider Robert Tompa (Suzuki) continued his sucessful streak in the series by seeing the chequered flag at the first position, leaving Hakan Halmi from Bulgaria (KTM) and Luka Crnkovic from Croatia (KTM) corespondingly on the next two position with a gap of almost 2 minutes.

Next and final event of the EMX65 and EMX85 Sout Eastern qualification leg will be held in Globare (Serbia) on the 6th and 7th of July.
