EMX 65 / EMX 85 European Championship: South West zone

First round for the EMX 65 / EMX 85 European Championship – South West zone in Gazzane di Preseglie, Italy. Even if the original schedule foresaw two days of race, due to bad weather conditions the race was done on a single day.

In EMX 85 race 1 the Italian Niccolo Mannini started from the pole position winning the race ahead of Italian riders Gennaro Utech and Filippo Mantovani. Italy ruled the podium with the French Felix Cardineaux fourth and Mano Faure fifth.
The second heat was raced under a heavy rain: in different conditions the Italian Edoardo Martinelli was the best ahead of the French Amaury Maindru and Utech, with Cardineau again fourth and Mantovani fifth.
The overall classification saw the Italian Utech on the first step of the podium with Martinelli second and Cardineau third.

In EMX65 the Spanish Carlos Martin was the best qualifier. The other group was won by the Austrian Ricardo Bauer, who won race 1 ahead of the Slovenian Tai Vidovic, the Spanish Pau Caudet, Carlos Martin and the South African Trent Valsecchi.
In a rainy and slippery race 2 the Spanish Caudet and Martin had a hard-fought for the victory. Third place for Ricardo Bauer, while under the podium there were Vidovic and Rafael Mennillo.
At the end, Caudet, Bauer and Martin made up the top three of the overall.

The next round of the EMX 65 EMX 85 South West zone will be next week in France.
