Pictures copyright: Jarek Pabijan Well-known as Poland's principal seaport and country's fourth-largest metropolitan area, the city of Gdansk has been the perfect location for the Final A of the European Team Speedway Championship. In front of 2.000 spectators the meeting was raced without delays, in a cloudy and cold weather. On home soil, team Poland ruled the competition from the beginning. One Sport extends SEC license until 2030 During the Gala to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Speedway Euro Championship, representatives of One Sport and FIM Europe announced the decision on the extension of the contract to organize the Speedway Euro Championship series. One Sport will be the organizer of the series until at least 2030. Thanks to the consistent efforts of the entire One Sport team, the SEC series has managed to rise to an excellent level. The starting list every year includes the biggest speedway stars, and the competition has come to Poland, Croatia, Denmark, Sweden, Latvia, the Czech Republic and Germany, among others. Tomasz Gollob, Nicki Pedersen, Martin Vaculik, Leon Madsen, Mikkel Michelsen, Patryk Dudek and Emil Sajfutdinow, among others, have raced on a variety of tracks. European Under 23 Team Speedway Championship: Final postponed to next weekend Due to the heavy rain and the bad track condition, for the sake of both safety of the riders and attractivity of racing, the European U23 Team Speedway Final scheduled for this weekend will be postponed to Sunday October 9th. This decision was taken by Mr Piotr Szymanski, Chairman of the Track Racing Commission, in agreement with the Team Managers and the Organizer, after consultation with some TRC members and FMN representatives. The new date has been agreed also to permit the TV coverage, as this is an important European Final event and it will be live broadcasted. SEC - Final 4: Leon Madsen is the new champion! In the Final 4 of the SEC – the Speedway European Championship, held in Pardubice, Czech Republic, the Dane Leon Madsen made up the loss to Janusz Kołodziej and grabbed the gold medal of the Individual European Championship. Silver went to Kołodziej, while bronze to Mikkel Michelsen. Before the start of the meeting, Kołodziej was on the lead of the interim classification, and already in the first series he increased the advantage over Madsen. Both were scoring well, and ended the regular phase with 11 points each. That result meant, they compete in the 'last chance' heat, in which Madsen crossed the finish line as first, while Kołodziej was fourth. European U19 Individual Speedway Championship: Jesper Knudsen crowned Champion! Final round for the European Under 19 Individual Speedway Championship in Nagyhalász, Hungary. A thrilling open-doors event, even more challenging due to the weather conditions, with a huge audience of over 2.000 spectators. After Heat 12 two riders could be the new Champion: Jesper Knudsen from Denmark and Mathias Pollestad from Norway. In Heat 15 the two riders met face to face: after the second lap the Danish could get a bit of gap on the Norwegian, winning the heat. In Heat 14 Casper Henriksson from Sweden secured with a race win the third overall position. Due to the bad weather conditions, the Jury decided to stop the meeting after Heat 16. SEC - Final 3: Kołodziej wins in Łódź Janusz Kolodziej won the TAURON SEC - Final 3, which was held in Łódź, Poland. Before the grand finale in Pardubice, the Pole is on the lead of the interim classification of the series. Second in the table, Leon Madsen loses only one point. After two series of starts, Madsen and Woryna were on the lead. The Dane showed a fantastic form and made up for his loss to the leaders. The only one to beat Madsen was Janusz Kołodziej. Thanks to his great performance, the Dane was promoted directly to the final and, equally important, moved to the first place in the interim classification already after the main round in Łódź. Wiktor Przyjemski (Poland) was the best winning ahead of Francis Gusts (Latvia), second after an additional run-off heat, and Norick Blodorn (Germany). European Pairs Speedway Championship: Denmark wins on home-soil Last event for the European Pairs Speedway Championship in Slangerup, about 30 km north-west of central Copenhagen, in the Capital Region of Denmark. After the domination of Latvia in Semifinal 1 and Great Britain in Semifinal 2, in this last race home riders from Denmark had the best in front of Czech Republic and Poland. SEC: Final 2 in Germany Final 2 for the SEC, the Speedway European Championship in Güstrow, Germany. Janusz Kołodziej won the 2nd round, Patryk Dudek took second place, while Daniel Bewley was third. Janusz Kołodziej brought home a set of points from as many as four of the five races he rode. This gave the Pole a handicap at the end of the regular phase, when he, Leon Madsen and Patryk Dudek each had 12 points. Kołodziej directly advanced to the finals, along with Madsen, who was pushed by a win in race 9 against the popular "Duzers". In the last chance race, Patryk Dudek and Daniel Bewley used the advantages of the outer starting fields. Mikkel Michelsen fought for a pass to the final until the very end but passed the finish line as third.
