Speedway European Championship: Robert Lambert rules the first round After the long lockdown due to the Coronavirus outbreak, finally this weekend the Speedway European Championship kicked off in Torun, Poland, with a new calendar based on five rounds. The meeting was raced in a sunny day: rider Robert Lambert claimed his victory after a brave attack on the last bend of the final heat when he defeated the local favourite Bartosz Smektała, fourth. Second position for the Danish Nicki Pedersen and third for Leon Madsen. The next round will be on 08th July in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The standing:

Poland hosts TAURON Speedway Euro Championship An unprecedented situation in the world of speedway just becomes reality. Poland will host five rounds of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2020. For the first time in history the entire Individual European Championship series will be held in one country. Due to recent events caused by COVID-19, TAURON SEC promotors decided, that all rounds of this year's competition will be held in Poland. What's more, instead of the conventional four rounds, this time, riders will participate in a five-round series. Toruń (inaugural and final round), Bydgoszcz, Gniezno and Rybnik were selected as host cities of the Individual European Championship 2020. Because of the current difficult situation, qualification rounds and SEC Challenge have to be cancelled. This season the participating riders, were selected by national federations to represent their countries at the Individual European Championships. With that being said, Mikkel Michelsen will defend the title.

Home hero Paweł Przedpełski impressed the crowd with a phenomenal start, which gave him three heat wins. Grigorii Laguta started this meeting from “zero”, but three heat wins let the Russian rider go through to the race-off, where he was third. In case of Mikkel Michelsen's win in the final, title would be decided in an additional heat: that’s exactly what happened. Michelsen came as first, having Madsen and Przedpełski behind his back. Polish U21 team have confirmed their role as favorites wining the team title at the end of an amazing fight up to the last heat. The final race took place in Rivne, Ukraina, on 31st August. Silver medal for the Russian Roman Lachbaum and third step of the podium for Mads Hansen from Denmark. European 250cc Youth Speedway Cup: the final The European 250cc Youth Speedway Cup moved from Pardubice to Divisov, Czech Republic, for the season finale. The final lasted almost 4 hours and was full of excellent racing but also accidents. The track conditions were demanding and the riders from eight different countries had a tough race. Individual Speedway Euro Championship: Final 3 Mikkel Michelsen won the third round of the Individual Speedway Euro Championship, which was held in Vojens, Denmark. Kacper Woryna was the runner-up and the last spot on the podium was taken by Nicki Pedersen. First series of starts was filled with many impressive actions on track. Fans gathered at the stands in Vojens witnessed lots of overtakes, including the one by former Euro Champion Andzejs Lebedevs, who overtook Bartosz Smektała at the very last metres. Track reserves also impressed – Fredrik Jakobsen and Andreas Lyager caused a lot of troubles to Mikkel Michelsen. In the second series of starts, we still had tons of emotions. Probably, the most interesting heat was the sixth one with a perfect start by Frederik Jakobsen. Dane was leading through two laps, but was overtaken by very fast Kai Huckenbeck.
