First Round of EMX Open EC held in Russia

The first round of the EMX Open Motocross European Championship was held today in Orlyonok (Russia) The first heat saw the victory of Ukrainian Roman Morozov (Kawasaki), followed by Belarus Evgeny Tyletski (KTM) and Russian Eveniy Mikhailov. The second heat was won by Tyletski in front of Alekander Ivanyutin and Morozov. The provisional rankings after the first round see the leadership of Tyletski with 47 points. The next round is scheduled on the 29th of April in Kiev (Ukraine). (UEM Press Release 20/2012)

Gajser Wins Both Heats of the First EMX125cc in Sevlievo

The first round of the EMX125 Motocross European Championship was held today in Sevlievo (Bulgaria) The first race was comfortably won by Slovenian rider Tim Gajser (ktm) who led from start to finish despite crashing near the end of the second lap. Second position went to Spanish Jorge Zaragoza Beltran (Suzuki) and third Italian Davide Bonini (KTM). The second heat was again dominated by Gajser, followed by Bonini and British James Dunn (KTM). Van der Mark wins 2nd round of Superstock 600cc in Assen

The second round of the Superstock 600cc. European Championship was held today in Assen (The Netherlands) Again it was a very fantastic and exciting race. With all standard bikes in this class, there is no speed difference and riders must show a good riders technique. The first four riders Michael Van der Mark (Honda), Nacho Calero Perez (Yamaha), Gauthier Duwels (Yamaha) and Stephane. Egea (Yamaha) made quickly a gap, but stayed very close together until the finish. Changing positions many times. In the last lap they where side by side on the long straight with final victory of Van der Mark. Also after this group, another group of four riders competed together. The provisional rankings see the leadership of Michael Van der Mark with 41 points. Next round is scheduled on the 5th of May in Monza (Italy). (UEM Press Release 18/2012)

Rain affects the start of the EMX65 and EMX85 SW

The first round of the South Western Europe EMX65 and EMX85 Motocross European Championship started yesterday in Faenza. Weather conditions were extremely difficult with heavy rain all the time and muddy conditions on the track. The first race of EMX85 must be stopped because of these hard conditions. The winner of this first race was the Italian rider Nicholas LAPUCCI, who was followed by French rider Adrien MALAVAL on second place and Enzo TORANI on third. All other races were cancelled because it was not possible to continue given the rain and the very deep muddy conditions. (UEM Press Release 17/2012)

First Round Of The Supermoto S2 EC In Ottobiano

The class S2 of the Supermoto European Championship started today at the Ottobiano track in Italy. The first race of this Round was won by Dutch rider DEVON VERMEULEN (KTM) who managed to gradually pass riders in the race until he was first, taking advantage of a very good riding technique on a rainy and wet track . In second position, fighting continually for the spot, finished Finnish rider SAMI SALSTOLA (HONDA), while third place of this race was grabbed by PETR VORLICEK (HONDA). The second race was a continued fight over the lead between PETR VORLICEK (HONDA) and DEVON VERMEULEN (KTM), with the Czech rider being able to finally come on top. First Round Of The European Hill Climb Road Racing

The first round of a new UEM competition, called the “European Hill Climb Road Racing”, was held this weekend in the beautiful area of Landshaag, Austria. In total 218 riders were present to race up to the top of the hill for over 3260 meters. The race track has an altitude difference of 981 meter. The track has 21 corners of which 9 to the right and 12 to the left. The weather during the free- and the qualifying practices on Saturday were good and dry, but on Sunday during the qualifying practices there was some light rain. During the two heats there was good weather. The competition takes place in the following classes: 125/Moto3, 250GP Open, Superstock 600, Supersport, Naked 650, Superstock 1000, Superbike, Supermoto and Sidecars. Start Of The Bajas European Championship In Hungary

The Bajas European Championship was held yesterday and today in Hajdúszoboszló (Hungary) with the Aqua-Palace Cup, the first round of the 20th anniversary season of the Hungarian Cross-Country Rally Championship. Aqua-Palace Cup is organised for the second time in Hajdúszoboszló, a famous spa town in the Eastern part of Hungary. The event is organised taking full advantage of the location mixing cross-country rally with... wellness! In practice this means that the rally is scheduled in a way to make it possible for the riders and drivers to try the wellness facilities in the evenings. This concept was a great success last year, so this year organisers decided to go on with it. The weekend was characterised with extreme conditions due to heavy rain falls, with tracks becoming more and more muddy and slippery. Results of the 1st EMX Quad round in Oldbroek

The first round of the EMX Quad European Championship was held today on the sandy track of Oldebroek (The Netherlands). The first race was characterised by permanent rain, with best start for French rider Jeremy Warnia in front of current European Champion Romain Couprie and British rider Paul Holmes. Leader Warnia did a mistake after 20 min and it was Couprie who finished first in front of Warnia and local rider Mike van Grinsven and Paul Holmes. 5th place for German rider Stefan Schreiber. In race 2, best start again for French rider Jeremy Warnia in front of Romain Couprie. After a demonstration of MXQuads sport he win the second heat 37 seconds in front of Couprie. Sunday results of Trial EC in Valesia

The first round of the Trial European Championship was disputed yesterday at Varallo Sesia, Italy. Twice vice-champion in the last 2 championship, Matteo Grattarola, Gas Gas topped the European class. French Steven Coquelin, Gas Gas gained in the Junior’s and ex-world champion Finnish Tommi Ahvala stood out in the Over 40’s. Curiousity: all of them were not leading at half competition, they recovered and won thanks to a superb performance in the second loop. Between the top riders after the first lap, Italian Matteo Poli , Ossa had delivered his card with only 13 mistakes, gaining the provvisional leadership. Two points behind was French Cedric Tempier, Sherco, while only third Grattarola, carrying 16 marks. Nevertheless 5 points taken in section 5 because his bike switch off, Grattarola scored the best results in the second lap: 12 points.
