FIM Europe Supermono Cup round in Oschersleben (Germany)

The third round of the Supermono European Cup was held last weekend in the German track of Oschersleben. Both races were won by Dutch rider Jerry Van de Bunt on Rotax 450. In the first race Van de Bunt was followed by Dutch Mike Velthuijzen (TZM 250GP) and British Perry Goldstein (KTM). In the second race second position went to Austrian Lukas Wimmer (Kramer) and third to British Perry Goldstein (KTM). The provisional rankings see leadership of Lukas Wimmer with 90 points in front of Perry Goldstein with 77 points. The last round of the FIM Europe Supermono Cup will take place from 10. to 12 October on the GP Circuit of Assen (The Netherlands)    Download here FIM Europe Press Release 142/2014

New European Champions in Trial EC, Junior and Over 40 crowned in Bilstain (Belgium)

Two German’s clinched the two titles still to be assigned in the last round held in Bilstain, Belgium of the FIM Europe Championship: Franz Kadlec (Beta) in the Europe class and Sascha Neumann (Gas Gas) in the Junior class. Both had hard time in defeating their main rivals. Kadlec won this last round beating by only two points his first challenger, Belgian Maxime Warenghien (Sherco), strong as never competing on home soil. Without any doubt, these two riders were the protagonists of this 23rd edition of the European championship. In both the loops, on the 15 sections, the German one was able to score one mark less: 30 against 31 in the first lap and 29 against 30 in the second part. Motocross of European Nations in Pacov (Czech Republic)

It has been an awesome weekend in Czech Republic as the 2014 Motocross of European Nations was held at the old school circuit of Pacov. Earlier on Saturday an opening ceremony was held trackside where each nation was introduced. Following the team presentations, the selection of nations for qualifying heat order was drawn at random by Chairman of FIM Europe Motocross Commission Eddie Herd. After qualifying yesterday, the Italians lined up on pole today in both Motocross of European Nations and Women’s Motocross of European Nations divisions. While they embraced the early buffer it’s a commonly known fact that nothing in motocross is set in stone, especially when rain and weather becomes a factor. Despite the early morning lashing of rain which lathered the hilly hard packed circuit of Pacov, the Italians brought their ‘A’ games and were rewarded accordingly. Trial Youth and Women European Cup final round in Bilstain (Belgium)

On the famous venue of Bilstain, Belgium ,British Dan Peace (Gas Gas) and German Ina Wilde (Gas Gas) became European Champion in the Youth and Women class respectively. In a very changeable weather, with showers and sun shining in alternate appearance, the fourth and last round of the championship for women and Youths has been held. If the final crown for Peace was almost certain, having gathered 3 victories in the previous rounds and managing a decent lead on runner-up, Italian Luca Petrella (Ossa), not so taken for granted the title for Ina, who on the eve shared the top position with her country-mate Theresa Baulm. Indeed in the Youth class, the winner was the challenger, Petrella , the only one able to squeeze a victory from the great power showed by Peace. Presentation of last Trial EC round in Bilstain (Belgium)

Blazoned venue chosen to close the 23rd edition of the European Trial series: the theater of the 80’s and part of the 90’s Belgian world rounds: the Bilstain domain. A large private terrain in North-East of Belgium fully dedicated to off-road motorcycling sport: Trial and Enduro. In this coming week-end it will host all the best riders engaged in the various European championship or cup trophies. Starting on Saturday here are on the stage, the Women's and the Youth's, to continue on Sunday where we are expecting the Over40, the Juniors and the Europe class. On the competition loop, 12 sections to be repeated twice on Saturday competition. Three section more on Sunday’s. Still four titles have to be assigned, because the Over 40 Cup was already clinched by Finn Jussi Haapanen (Gas Gas) , winner of three events and so crowned European champion in Tanvald, in the event before.

FIM Europe and FIM meet for close cooperation

  On the 20th August, an important meeting between the FIM President, Mr. Vito Ippolito, and the FIM Europe President, Dr. Wolfgang Srb, has taken place at the FIM Offices in Mies. Also the FIM Europe General Secretary, Mr. Alessandro Sambuco, was present at this meeting. The first official meeting between the two Presidents, after the FIME elections held in Cracow, has seen a substantial understanding and a strong will to have a full and transparent cooperation between the two organisations, so as declared by President Srb at the end of the meeting.   “The meeting with the FIM President went very well", said President Srb. "We discussed at length issues of common interest, sporting as well as administrative. Both sides expressed their will for a close cooperation in the future and regular meetings of the Presidents as well as frequent meetings of the FIM CEO and the FIM Europe

FIM Europe meets Dorna for the future of Road Racing

On Friday 15th August, in occasion of the MotoGP in Brno, Dorna’s offices have hosted an important meeting between the FIM Europe, represented by its President Dr. Wolfgang Srb and the Secretary General Mr Alessandro Sambuco and the CEO of Dorna, Mr Carmelo Ezpeleta. As general subject on the table there was the future of Road Racing and, specifically, the role of the European Championship and the exam of a possible collaboration with Dorna, not only for the class Superstock 600, currently running with SBK, but also for  the same European Championship. The second round of the Bajas European Championship was held on Friday and Saturday in the Papa (Hungary) track. Because of short track on Friday there is only one result per class. Third round of Drag Racing in Hockenheim (Germany)

The third round of the European Championship was held at Hockenheim Ring in Germany. The race was well attended by approximately 70 0000 spectators who saw a good race in excellent weather. Four classes were represented: Top Fuel Bike (4 Riders), Super Twin Bike (6 Riders) and Pro Stock Bike (9 Riders). The winners of each class were: Top Fuel Bike Ian King UK Super Twin Bike Samu Kemppainen FIN Pro Stock Bike Fredrik Fredlund FIN The Superstreet Bike European Cup was also held with 33 racers attending to the race with the winner was:Bradley O´Conner UK. Third round of Quadcross European Championship in Kegums (Latvia)

The third round of European Quad Championship was held this weekend on the circuit “ZELTA ZIRGS” Kegums in Latvia. 29 Quad riders came to a perfect prepared circuit, and the free practice and qualifying training was carried out on a warm and cloudy day. The fastest rider in the qualifying practice was Edgars Mengelis Latvia, with Olli Koskela Finland on the second place and on the third place came Mike Van Grinsven the Netherlands. On a sunny Sunday with 28 degr. The first race toke place at 12.30 and the fastest rider was Edgars Mengelis Latvia number two Olli Koskela Finland, and on the third place came Mike Van Grinsven the Netherlands. In the second race Edgars Mengelis Latvia was again the fastest with Olli Koskela Finland on the second place, and number three Mike Van Grinsven the Netherlands Overall standing for the third round is Edgars Mengelis Latvia 50
