European Trial Championship in Luserna (Italy) – Preview

Gianluca Tournour in a photo by Mario Candellone Everything is almost ready in Luserna San Giovanni, near Turin, Piedmont, North-West of Italy to host the second and third round of the 2015 FIM Europe Trial Championship.  On 18th and on 19th of July all the riders fighting for the three championships more blazoned are joining together again after more than three months, when in Pietramurata, Trentino, they met for the first round of the season. In Italy as in many South European Countries Summer is very hot. Luserna San Giovanni is is located 500 meters above the sea level and the highest part of the loop is at about 1000 mt, so two hot days are expected but with little breeze.  And fortunately 13 sections out of 15 were drawn in a shadowed zone, under some trees.  The 9 km long circuit has three group of sections. European Mini Road Racing Championship – Preview

The European Championship of Mini Road Racing was held the past five years in an One-Event format across Europe: in 2014 in Cheb (CZE), in 2013 in Vransko (SLO), in 2012 in Zuera (SPA), in 2011 in Juvaincourt (FRA), in 2010 in Wittgenborn (GER), in 2009 in Ottobiano (ITA). This year there will be two rounds with again three races per event. The first round will take place from 31st July till 2nd of August in Pomposa (Italy). The special features for this venue are two separate circuits – one for Mini Moto (Pocket Bike) of 480 meters and one for Mini GP (Mini Bike) of 1.200 meters. The second and final round will take place two weeks later from 14th to 16th of August at Assen (NED). The new venue from Assen offers different layouts and shortcut possibilities. European Supermono Cup in Zolder (Belgium)

Lukas Wimmer was the big winner of the two FIM Europe Supermono Cup races at the Begium circuit of Zolder. Guest rider and former multiple Superbike Champion Arie Vos from the Netherlands took a third and second place on the 690 KTM Super Duke. In race1 (8 laps) held on Saturday afternoon with sunny and warm weather (32°C) Lukas Wimmer from Austria took a decisive victory with an appropriate advantage (3.7 seconds) on Dutch Rotax rider Jerry van de Bunt.Guest rider Arie Vos who missed the prestart and had to start from behind had a blistering start but could not join the two leaders and had a thrilling battle with Austrian Josef Frauenschuh for third place. Allan Ostli onboard his JSB Ducati had to pull in with technical problems. EMX65, 85 and 250 Championships in Kegums (Latvia)

Meanwhile Kemea Yamaha Yamalube’s Damon Graulus put his sand skills to good use for the EMX250 round seven overall, and his first round win of the season.In contrast to the dry and fluffy sand the riders faced in race one yesterday, conditions were considerably tougher today for race two thanks to the weather gods letting loose on the picturesque circuit of Kegums. European Supermoto in Villena (Spain) - Day 2

Villena (Spain) 12 July  2015 – Under blue skies and temperatures in the high thirties the GP of Comunitat Valenciana will go down as a memorable one as Marc-Reiner Schmidt was crowned S2 European Champion, and David Gimenez giving his fans a performance to be proud of in S2. TM Degasoline Marc-Reiner Schmidt entered race one knowing he had an opportunity to be crowned S2 European Champion and as soon as the lights went out he wasted no time in setting the holeshot and cruising to an unchallenged victory to claim his first European title. But while he was disappearing into the distance, all Spanish eyes were on the home favourite Suzuki Team Grau David Gimenez who after starting fourth took just five laps to move ahead of Honda Assomotor Fabrizio Bartolini and Honda Freccia Diego Monticelli  to move into second, although he was helped slightly when Monticelli fell. Speedway European Championship Final 2 in Landshut (Germany)

The second round of the Speedway European Championship was held in Landshut (Germany). With a crowd of of hundreds of spectators, the Russian rider Emil Sayfutdinov won in front of Danish Nicki Pedersen, while Antonio Lindback from Sweden completed the podium. Fourth place for Polish Tomasz Gollob who finished before Martin Vaculik from Slovakia. European Supermoto in Villena (Spain)

Villena (Spain) 11 July 2015 – Under sunny skies and with temperatures nudging the mid-thirties the fifth round of S2 European Championship arrived in Spain. After topping the free practice sessions earlier in the day, the European Championship leader Marc-Reiner Schmidt (in the photo) once again took control of the timed training session to put his Degasoline TM on pole position leaving him with a great possibility of taking his first European crown is all goes to plan on race day.Behind him, one second further back was Fabrizio Bartolini, the Assomotor Honda riding edging out former European champion Petr Vorlicek on the SHR Suzuki.The second row will be headed up by the Spaniard David Gimenez so he, and the fans will be hoping to see the Suzuki Grau Racing rider finish on the podium.Freccia Team Honda rider Diego Monticelli and TM Factory Racing's Mattia Martella rounded out the top six.S2

International Racecamp and European Mini Moto Championship

This summer the 3rd edition of the KNMV Racecamp will be organized at the Assen Juniortrack. From 10 until 12th August the Assen track will be occupied with young riders in different classes. This time however it will be the first International Racecamp where riders from different Countries will meet and compete next to each other. The main goal is to learn, have fun and prepare for the European minimoto championships.Racecamp competitors will get support from KNMV trainers and riders from various European championships and Red Bull Rookies classes. Racecamp can be entered by riders from all levels in the following classes: Minibike (all), NSF100, MiniGP50/70, Scooter and Yamaha R125.Next to racing there will be all sorts of sports activities during the evenings, new this year will be the introduction of a new mini supermoto experience. FIM Europe 9th Road Safety Conference in Malta

The 21st FIM Europe Congress in Malta hosted the 9th edition of Road Safety Conference, which traditionally deals with the most important and updated topics of the matter. In the latest years, the Road Safety Conference dealt with road incidentality, industry responses and initiatives, the systems to improve Road Safety, traumatic injuries and first aid, 2 wheeler behaviour and safety, roadside  barriers and crash tests, and, last year, with themes related with Safety concepts and devices derived from Track, such as airbag for motorcyclists. This year the Road Safety Conference dealt with the development of electronics to increase usability and safety both on track and on road. The conference was held under the auspices of Silvio Manicardi, FIM Europe vice-president, and of Jean-Pierre Moreau, Chairman of Public Affairs Commission.
