Start of the EMX65 and EMX85 South-Eastern Motocross in Pomorie (Bulgaria)

The South-Eastern Europe leg of the EMX65 and EMX85 Motocross European Championships started this weekend the Bulgarian motocross track of Poroy, located near the Black Sea's coastline city of Pomorie. The track was greatly prepared and the riders were in for some action, powered by the cheers of a huge turnout of fans! In the first heat of 85cc class Romanian Robert Tompa (Suzuki) swept the win by a considerable distance while Bulgarians Ivelin Manev (KTM) and Ivilin Gospodinov (KTM) setteled for second and third. Second heat of 85cc had the same scenario, Romanian Robert Tompa (Suzuki) managing to get up in front and claim first place. Although this time Croatian Luka Crnkovic (KTM) took second while Bulgarian Ivilin Gospodinov (KTM) finished third again. Romanian Robert Tompa (Suzuki) wins the overall and starts the Championship with maximum points (50), while second and third places are tied to fourty points each

Updates on the 2013 Motocross of European Nations and the EMX150 Championship

Following discussions with the promoters Youthstream there is to be a change of format for the Motocross of European Nations. Each European FMN can enter one team of 4 riders as follows: 2 riders on 85cc 2strokes – age limits 11 to 14 years old. 1 rider on a 125cc 2 stroke – age limits 13 to 17 years old. 1 rider on a MX2 specification motorcycle as defined in FIM technical rules – age limits 14 to 21 years old. Each rider will have 2 races. The 85cc riders will race together in 2 races for 20 minutes plus 2 laps and the 125 and MX2 riders will race together in 2 races for 25 minutes plus 2 laps. The 85cc riders will not compete against the 125cc or the MX2 riders. The best seven (from 8) results will count for the overall team positions. Qualification will take place

Herten 2013 winner of the Snowcross European EC in Hattfjelldal (Norway)

The European Snowcross Championship was held this weekend in Norway in the town Hattfjelldal. 23 teams came on Saturday Morning to a perfect prepared Snow Track. The event was characterized by -24 degrees in the morning and 14 degrees by midday. The four heat were won by respectively Jonatan Eriksson (SWE, Arctic Cat), Viktor Herten (FIN, Lynx), Viktor Herten (FIN, Lynx), Ståle Eggen (NOR, Lynx). Thanks to two victories and a 7th and a 3rd position, the Finnish rider Viktor Herten managed to get the first position in the overall standings with 84 points, followed by Swedish Magnus Renstrøm with 74 points and Ståle Eggen with 73 points. Italy winner of the Motocross of European Nations in Kiev

The Motocross of European Nations event was held today in a track in the outskirts of Kiev (Ukraine). The race, which attracted a huge audience, was broadcasted on National television and was introduced the day before in the city centre of Kiev with the presentation of all the participating riders. 14 national teams participated to the event and the winning team was Italy, composed by Samuele Bernardini (KTM), David Guarneri (KTM) and Manuel Monni (KTM). Victory arrived especially thanks to the extraordinary performance of David Guarneri, who won two heats. Second position went to the Slovenian team composed by the EMX 125 cc European Champion Tim Gajser (KTM), Klemen Gercar (Honda) and Matevz Irt (Suzuki). Last rounds of EMX 125 and EMX250 in Faenza

The last rounds of the 125cc 2 stroke and the 250cc Motocross European Championships were held today in Faenza (Italy). The 125cc 2 stroke class was held without the already proclaimed 2012 European Champion Tim Gajser. In the first heat was won by Italian Simone Furlotti (Suzuki), followed by Latvian Pauls Jonass (KTM) and South African with British licence Nicholas Adams (KTM). In the second heat victory of Norwegian Magne Klingsheim (KTM), followed by Jonass and Furlotti. In the EMX250 class British Mel Pocock confirmed his strength and managed easily to become the new 2012 European Champion arriving fourth in the first heat and winning the last one when he already got the title. Pocock dominates the 250cc Motocross EC in Lierop

The penultimate round of the EMX250cc Motocross European Championship was held today in Lierop (The Netherlands). In the first heat, best start for the leader of the championship Mel Pocock (Yamaha) in front of Danish rider Stefan Kjer Olsen (Yamaha) and local rider Mike Kras (Suzuki). After 15 min. Kras passed Olsen and finished 2nd in front of Olsen and Belgian rider Brent Van Donink (KTM). In race 2, again best start for Pocock in front of Olsen and Kras. In the last round Kras had technical problems and must let pass Van Donink who finished 3rd. In the provisional rankings Mel Pocock is very close to the 2012 European Champion title with 280 points in front of Olsen with 238 points. Motocross Meeting in Matterley Basin

A great event was organised by ACU in collaboration with Youthstream from the 16th to the 19th of August with the finals of the EMX 65 cc. and EMX 85 cc. classes after the regional qualification rounds and with the sixth round of the 125cc Motocross European Championship and the fifth round of the EMX 250 cc class. The meeting was organised at a top level and was characterised by good weather at the main days with many spectators the motocross world saw the world biggest MX event ever held! Over 5 days Motocross in 10 classes (MX1, MX2, MX3, WMX, VMX, Amateurs and the European: EMX65, EMX85, EMX125, EMX250). Nearly 400 riders were present! Hill Climbing of European Nations in Arette

The first edition of the Hill Climbing Cup of European Nations was held yesterday in Arette (France) on the 12th of August in front of an huge crowd of 70.000 people with very good weather. The event registered the participation of 7 national teams and the presence of local television and it offered an exciting show with great performances by the best European specialists of this discipline. Results of the 250cc Motocross EC in Loket

Excellent conditions for motocross in the EMX250cc European Championship event held in Loket (Czech Republic) this weekend in front of more than 25.000 spectators. Sixty-four riders from 18 countries were present at the fourth event of the EMX250 2012 Championship. First race of this event was brilliantly won by French rider Maxime Desprey (Kawasaki) who managed to lead from start to finish. British rider Mel Pocock (Yamaha), who won every race of the three previous rounds, came in second place at the finish line of the 15 lap race, while third step of the podium was occupied by Slovenian Tim Gasjer (KT), after winning an early battle with Danish Stefan Kjer Olsen (Yamaha). Last round of South-Western Europe EMX65 & EMX85

The 4th and last round of the South Western Europe zone of the EMX65 and EMX85 Motocross European Championship events was held this weekend in Freixo (Portugal). The Swiss Xylian Ramella (KTM) won both races of EMX65, placing himself in front of French Brian Moreau (KTM) and Slovenian Luka Milec (KTM), who also finished second and third in both races. In the EMX 85 class, Spanish Jorge Prado (KTM) won the first race in front of Portuguese Jorge Maricato (KTM). Third place of the first race went to Spanish Adrian Gallardo (Suzuki). Italian Lorenzo Camporese (KTM) managed to win the second EMX 85 race, but his 12th place finish in the first race made him place just outside the overall podium.
