First day for the FIM Europe family in Bucharest
with the reunion of the Sporting and Beyond Sporting Councils.

After two years of stop due to the COVID pandemic and restrictions, the FIM Europe Congress officially kicked off today inside the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bucharest, Romania, and will take place during the whole weekend in the presence of 39 National Federations.

A unique opportunity for all Federations, Commissions Chairmen and Members as well as FIM Europe Championships’ promoters to meet and share ideas and expertise, all driven by a common passion for motorcycling.

The first day began with a special press conference with the Romanian National TV in the presence of the FIM Europe President, Martin de Graaff, the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Sports, Thomas Moldovan and the President of the Romanian Motorcycling Federation, Cristian Muresan.

In the afternoon the first meetings: Sporting and Beyond Sporting Councils, with a focus on last year’s activities and the upcoming events.

In the Sporting Council relevant issues were discussed by the Chairmen of the various Commissions, who made the point on the current and last seasons. The reports of the latest activities of all disciplines were analysed in the presence of the FIM Europe President and the Chairman of the Sporting Council, Michal Sikora.

The Beyond Sporting Council analysed the activities done with its Chairman, Silvio Manicardi. It took stock of this mandate and pointed to the news that emerged this year in order to present them to the General Assembly.

Tomorrow the program foresees the “General Secretaries Leadership Path” FIM Workshop and the Management Council in the morning, while in the afternoon the General Assembly with the election of the new FIM Europe President, eight Vice-Presidents, three Internal Auditors and five Judicial Panel Members.

“A very good first day for the FIM Europe Congress. Finally, after two years we could meet in the presence of many delegates of the Federations. Today we had Sporting and Beyond Sporting Councils, facing a lot of items. Just before lunch time we had a press conference for the national tv with Cristian Muresan, President of the Romanian Motorcycling Federation, and Thomas Moldovan, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Sports. We talked about the future of the sport and the importance of having a real Congress again in Romania after several years”.
