2019 World Environment Day

2019 World Environment Day

The 5th of June, day worldwide dedicated to environment, is approaching.
The FIM President, Mr Jorge Viegas, has already sent to every member of the FIM family a letter containing several issues regarding the celebration of this day and we subscribe every word of this document.
This year the theme is “AIR POLLUTION”, inviting everybody in the planet to make any effort to “green the blue” i.e. to improve the quality of the air that we breath.
We know that air pollution comes from various sources, industry, agriculture, household, mobility, waste disposal and every one of them can be, in different measure, connected with the World of motorcycling.
From this consciousness, come the invitation not only to celebrate this day during the FIM Europe events held in the weekend before and after the 5th of June, but also to continue in all the coming days to keep a correct behaviour for the environment.
In this optic, we must reduce as much as possible the running time of our engines, avoiding jam traffic during the events, preferring reusable and recyclable items instead of disposable plastic ones, making a proper separate collection of solid waste, etc.
Naturally the ones listed above, are just a part of a correct environmental behaviour, so we invite everyone to be a conscious habitant of this planet every day of the year.
In the end we invite you once again to celebrate this 5th of July and to send pictures of these celebration to FIM Europe, in order to be published in the internet page of the Environment Commission to share it with all the motorcycling family.
Have a great World Environment Day!
