Second meeting day for the FIM Europe Congress

Second official day for the FIM Europe Congress at the Sheraton Hotel in Zagreb, Croatia.

Lots of meetings, among which the special one at the Presidential Residence with the President of Croatia, Mrs. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, who received a complimentary plate from the FIM Europe Acting President Mr. Martin De Graaff as a sign of gratitude for the hospitality in Croatia. At this special meeting also the FIM President Mr. Jorge Viegas, the Chairman of the Vintage Commission Mr. Igor Boskovic, the HMS President Mr. Stjepan Persin and the HMS Secretary General Mr. Ivan Lafter.

In the morning the Management Council faced all the agenda points, including the proposal for the Sporting Commission in view of the General Assembly of Saturday.

The Management Council

During the day took place the 8 Sporting Commissions meetings (Road Racing, Motocross, Supermoto, Enduro, Trial, Track Racing, Vintage, Motoball), the 4 Non-Sporting Commissions (Public Affairs Commission, Environment Commission, Touring Commission, Marketing, Promotion & Industry Commission) and the 2 Panels (Medical and Judical).

In the afternoon the 13th Road Safety & Mobility Conference was broadcasted in youtube live streaming with the presence of the 2nd Deputy President Mr. Silvio Manicardi. The main theme was the “basic and advanced training” in order to reduce the numbers of the incident and death on the road. At the conference spoke Mr. Matthew Baldwin, Deputy Director-General for Mobility and Transport, and Mr. Antonio Perlot, ACEM Secretary General, together with Mr. Dolf Willinger from FEMA, Mr. Jesper Christensen from SMC and Mr. Nils Freivalds, Chairman of the FIM Europe Touring Commission.

The day ended with the traditional meeting of the Secretaries General. Many topics were addressed, as the innovation of information technology and the new guide lines of the communication. The meeting saw the intervention of Mr. Alessandro Sambuco, FIM Europe Secretary General, about the report of FIM Europe Club Joannina 2018 and some words about the new 2019 and 2010 edition in Croatia and in Austria, with the support of the Greek Panagiotis Kalaitzis, member of the FIM Europe Touring Commission, the Croatian Igor Boskovic, Vintage Commission Chairman, and the Austrian Franz Pintarich, of the AMF. Kurt Ljungqvist, the Secretary General of the Finnish Federation, talked about the “FIM Europe Club Finland-Lapland 2020”. Last but not least some words about the motorcycle friendly hotels, the procedure to follow before the races, the organization of the historical archive and the Tour Assistant Training Course.

Tomorrow the Congress will keep on working with the third day of meetings: the Sporting and Non-Sporting Council, followed by the Management Council. At 2 pm there will be the General Assembly (live broadcasted) with the election of the new FIM Europe President at the presence of 39 National Federations.
