Updates on the 2013 Motocross of European Nations and the EMX150 Championship

aboutuemFollowing discussions with the promoters Youthstream there is to be a change of format for the Motocross of European Nations. Each European FMN can enter one team of 4 riders as follows:

  • 2 riders on 85cc 2strokes – age limits 11 to 14 years old.
  • 1 rider on a 125cc 2 stroke – age limits 13 to 17 years old.
  • 1 rider on a MX2 specification motorcycle as defined in FIM technical rules – age limits 14 to 21 years old.

Each rider will have 2 races. The 85cc riders will race together in 2 races for 20 minutes plus 2 laps and the 125 and MX2 riders will race together in 2 races for 25 minutes plus 2 laps. The 85cc riders will not compete against the 125cc or the MX2 riders. The best seven (from 8) results will count for the overall team positions. Qualification will take place the day before and riders will have 1 qualification race each – 15mins + 2 laps for the 85cc riders and 20 minutes plus 2 laps for the 125cc and MX2 riders.

This event will be held at Castelnau de Levis in France on the 20/21 April and in combination with the new Women’s Motocross of European Nations. The new rules are on the FIM Europe website.

All riders competing in the EMX150 Championship must be registered with Honda Europe and entered by Honda Europe. The riders still require the correct license and start permission from their own Federation.

The minimum age in EMX150 is 11 years old and the maximum age is 14 years old at the first round of this Championship. A rider who reaches his/her 15th birthday after the 1st round may compete in the remainder of this championship.
