Superstock 600cc Road Racing EC and European Junior Cup in Magny Cours (France)

aboutuemThe ninth round of the Superstock Road Racing European Championship was held yesterday in the French track of Magny Cours. Italian podium with victory of Alessandro Nocco (Kawasaki), second Franco Morbidelli (Kawasaki) and third Christian Gamarino (Kawasaki).

Alessandro Nocco (San Carlo Team Italia Kawasaki) has won the STK600 race in dominant fashion today at Magny-Cours. The 16 year old Italian, at his third race victory of his rookie season, pulled away in the opening laps to cross the line 6 seconds ahead of his nearest rivals. Christian Gamarino (Team Go Eleven Kawasaki) and Nocco’s team mate Franco Morbidelli put up a great show in the final stages of the race, swapping positions several times before the chequered flag.

In the end it was the current Championship leader to snatch second place for just 0.005s, an important achievement for Morbidelli who holds now a 10-point advantage in the standings on both Gamarino and Nocco. Bastien Chesaux (EAB Ten Kate Junior Honda) finished 4th ahead of Federico D’Annunzio (Pata by Martini Team Yamaha), Marko Nekvasil (Lexware-Skm by Knobi.at) and Kyle Smith (Agro-On Racedays Honda), who made his way up to 7th from 21st place on the grid.

Today was also held the European Junior Cup round, which saw the victory of Spanish Augusto Fernandez, followed by Hungarian Peter Sebestyen and Spanish Javier Orellana.

The final round of both classes will be held respectively on the 19th and 20th of October in Jerez (Spain).
