Supermoto EC in Castelletto di Branduzzo(Italy)

fim europeSunny Italy welcomed the European SuperMoto riders in the all asphalt circuit of Castelletto di Branduzzo, offering a one day event in extremely hot conditions, typical for the season.

Race 1 of the SM2 for the GP of Europe began not in the best way for the winner of the pole position Yuri Guardala from Italy. Due to outside assistance at the grid he was disqualified from the race in question. However, the Italian performed at a top level and at the second race he proved his style and ambitions this season. In any case, the epic battle for the European championship included a heavy Italian pressure on the current leader of the series – Asseri Kingelin, who won Race one ahead of Paolo Gaspardone, and his fellow Italians – Gioavanni Bussei – third and Fabrizio Bartolini at fourth place. The top five in Race 1 was finalized with the fellow finish rider Toni Klem.

After his definite misfortune in Race 1, Yuri Guardala proved on home land his perfect SuperMoto instincts and gave no chance for the other riders to reach him in the 12-laps race. Behind him, the spectators had a chance to witness great racing by Kingelin, second at the finish line and Bartolini third, who were followed into the top five by Gaspardone and Bussei.

It was a great weekend for Asseri Kingelin, who managed a second consecutive overall win this season and keeps the red plate for the Estonian round in a month time. Second for the day was Paolo Gaspardone and the podium was finalized by his fellow Italian Fabrizio Bartolini.

Next event will be at the end of August in Tabasalu, Estonia.
