International Classic Grand Prix at Sachsenring (Germany)

The circuit of Sachsenring, in Germany, hosted the third of five rounds of the International Classic Gran Prix. The event saw 27 participants who rode in front of around 25.000 spectators.
For the organisers this event was “a last chance” to check all the things and staff before the MotoGP, which will be held here in two weeks.
The weather changed various times: on Thursday it was about 30°C, but during the night there was a storm which destroyed some tents in paddock and overturned some bikes. On Friday it was cold and windy but ICGP riders were lucky – the rain arrived always after their track sessions.
On Saturday the weather was still cold and cloudy. In second qualifying  tractice Werner Reuberger, the fastest in YC250, had a crash and he was not fit to start to the main race.
In 350 cc race Mike Edwards (GB) was the winner and he finished around 50 seconds ahead his rivals.
In 250 cc Vincent Levieux from France snatched the victory.
On Sunday, at last with sunny, warm weather, in race2 there was a bad crash for Pascal Barette, who destroyed the bike but had no physical problems. Like the day before the winner of the 350 class was Mike Edwards but this time it was not easy: behind him all race long Don Gilbert with a 250 cc tried to overtake him. During the 12th lap Edwards lost the leadership but he overtook Gilbert in the next lap. The French rider finished the race in second position, but winning the 250 class.

The next round will be held in Grobnik, Croatia, on September 9th and 10th.
