European Pairs Speedway Championship: Poland wins the title

European Pairs Speedway Championship:
Poland wins the title

Terenzano, Italy, hosted on Saturday 17th October the final round of the European Pairs Speedway Championship.
It was an exciting event with a lot of close racing and several passes, especially in the first half of the meeting, despite the tricky conditions due the rain of the previous days.
Pre-meeting favourite team Poland met the expectation with their two top rider Jamrog Jakub and Victor Trofimov, who were always in control for the top spot of the podium.
Second place for the Latvians thanks to a brilliant display of former European Champion Andzejs Lebedevs. He was one of the most entertaining riders of the meeting and scored 17 points not all from the start. He was well supported by fellow countrymen Olegs Mihailovs, who scored a creditable 5 points in his three outings.
Third position for the French team, which battled all the way with skipper David Bellego and youngster Dmitri Berge, who defeated hosts Italy in the last heat decider.

The standings
1. Poland, pt 25
2. Latvia, pt 23
