European Pairs Speedway Championship at Lonigo (Italy)

The Semi-Final of the European Pairs Speedway Championship was held at Lonigo, in Italy, in front of around 1.200 spectators.
It was an entertaining meeting with close racing and several passes, especially in the second half of the meeting.
Sweden won the meeting thanks to a last heat decider against Czech Republic. The Swedish pair passed the impressive Czech Krcmar in the 15th heat, to claim the most important points of the night.

The runner-up place went to hosts Italy with Paco Castagna who recorded four wins in a row in a sparkling style. He was well supported by fellow team mate Nicolas Covatti who suffered also a crash during the meeting.
The last place on the rostrum went to pre-meeting favourites Czech riders. Vaclav Milik had a rare off-night despite winning his first ride.
The first two placed teams progressed to the final which will be held in Brovst, Denmark on 1st September.
