The town of Liberec in the North of the Czech Republic hosted the Semi-Final 1 of the European Pairs Speedway Championship, which was held in front of around 1.500 spectators. The meeting was run with sunny, warm weather. Six teams with 14 riders took part to the event. Thanks to work of the local organizers, the track was ready for a perfect competition and the spectators could see a very good race.
The riders from Great Britain won this dramatic race. They triumphed in the final heat ahead of the winner of qualifying race: the French team. The third place was scored by Danish team after a series of run-off heats. These teams qualified to the Final meeting European Pairs Speedway Championship that will take place in Lonigo, in Italy, on September 30th.
