European Enduro at Gelnica (Slovakia) - Day3

The third and last day of the final round of the Enduro European Championship took place in Gelnica, Slovakia and in the overall rating three Italians were on the podium: the new European champion is the Junior Matteo Pavoni (photo2), who is also champion in the junior class E1 on the 250th four-stroke KTM.
His 34 year-old countryman Maurizio Micheluz snatched the second place ahead of Oscar Balletti, both on a 300cc Husqvarna-2-stroke.
In this last day of the season, in the final motocross test, the favourite was the Czech Jaromir Romancik, who crashed but in the end he managed to win both in his E2 class, and also in the overall.

In the junior class, the 20-year-old Joakim Grelsson from Sweden was already the champion. His compatriot Calle Johansson is the vice-champion, while the French Neels Theric got the third position. They won the three special prices of the promoter Wolfgang Butzner: a work pavilion and Metzeler tires for to support the youngest riders.
In the senior E2 class the Brit Jamie Lewis showed once again his skills and finished in second position behind the guest starter and cross-specialist Romancik and secured himself on his Yamaha the title ahead of German Marco Neubert and Swedish Oliver Nelson.

Among the veterans, the leader in the championship, Arne Domeyer from Germany, was only third after the first lap, while his compatriot Sven Kiedrowski had taken the lead from the title defending champion Sebastian Krywult from Poland. Domeyer managed to overtake Krywult and to win the European title.
Riders, teams and new organizers are already planning the upcoming 2018 season.
