European Enduro at Gelnica (Slovakia) - Day2

The second day of the final round of the Enduro European Championship took place at Gelnica, in Slovakia today. In four classes the European Champions have already been crowned.
The first new European champion was Joakim Grelsson in the U20 class for 125cc riders. In the morning the Swede was just nine points ahead, but his countryman and challenger Calle Johansson had technical problems and went out prematurely. So the KTM rider won this title as well as the working-pavilion, which the promoter Wolfgang Butzner had donated as support for the youngest riders.

Matteo Pavoni (photo1) is the new European champion in the Junior E1 class. The KTM rider needed just a fourth place in his class to catch the title, but he managed to win and in the very last special stage he did the fastest time and finished in second position in the overall. Tomorrow the Italian will try to win the overall title, where he is leading with seven points of advantage. This means that a fourth position will be enough for the absolute European title.
In the senior Enduro1 class, the Swede Andreas Linusson is the new European champion: his competitor Daan Bruijstens from Holland did not feel at his ease with the ground conditions and today finished in eighth position. This gave the KTM driver Linusson a fourth place and the title.

The fourth European title of the day was for Jessica Gardiner (photo2): the Australian is riding with a French licence and therefore she can be rated for the European Championship. Despite an injured shoulder and despite she is riding a new motorcycle, the Yamaha rider won her class again and secured the title.
In the other classes, and above all in the overall ranking, the titles will be decided tomorrow.
