EMX 65 and 85 South East Zone at Giannitsa (Greece)

The first round of 2018 Motocross European Championship 65 and 85 South East zone started this weekend at Giannitsa, Greece, in sunny, warm weather.

Romanian rider Zoltan Ordog won the first qualifying heat of the season in front of Simon Ivandic from Croatia and Miroslav Dimitrov from Bulgaria.
In the first half part of Race1, seven riders fought for the first three positions. Then the qualifying winner Zoltan Ordog managed to get the first position and won the heat in front of Bulgarian rider Miroslav Dimitrov and Ofir Casey Tzemach from Israel.
In Race2 Zoltan Ordog managed to sign the double win, again in front of Miroslav Dimitrov. Three riders struggled for the third position, which went in the hands of Simon Ivandic from Croatia.
The overall winner is Zoltan Ordog in front of Miroslav Dimitrov and Simon Ivandic.

Home rider Marios Kanakis dominated the first qualifying heat of the season. He was followed by Romanian Marius Popovici and Luka Kunic from Croatia.
In Race1 two riders were particularly fast and rode ahead at once: Marios Kanakis and Marius Popovici, who gave life to a great fight for first position. In the last part of the heat Popovici made a mistake and crashed. He rode to the pit, had his motorcycle repaired and joined the race in second place but he was pushed back by Croatian Patrik Ujcic. In the end local rider Marios Kanakis won in front of Popovici and Ujcic.
In Race2 Popovici signed the holeshot, but after few laps Marios Kanakis took the lead and in the end he won in front of Marius Popovici. For the third place there was a fight between two Croatian riders: Patrik Ujcic and Luka Kunic, who managed to finish on the rostrum.
The overall winner in the first event of the year and SE Zone leader is Marios Kanakis, in front of Marius Popovici and Luka Kunic.
