Rubini and Guyon take top step in EMX
The circuit of Teutschenthal hosted the round of EMX Championships EMX250 and EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing. Through the 2 days of racing where the Summer heat ups the Talkessel circuit it was Honda Redmoto Assomotor’s Stephen Rubini and Team VRT’s Tom Guyon who proved to be the most prepared to challenge the technical German track.
F&H Racing Kawasaki’s Roan Van De Moosdijk came out of the first lap with the lead in the EMX250 opening race and held that position for 12 laps before second placed Honda Redmoto Assomotor’s Stephen Rubini closed up and passed the Dutchman on lap 13 and took the win. Van De Moosdijk finished second while Team Maddii Racing Husqvarna’s Alberto Forato finished third.
Behind the trio Team DIGA-Procross Husqvarna’s Jeremy Sydow, Steelsdrjack’s Nicholas Lapucci and Yamaha Europe EMX125 MJC’s Thibault Benistant were battling for 4th.
Alberto Forato was the man on the move in race 1 trying to close on Rubini for the lead but he crashed without loosing any position but a bunch of seconds. He then managed to gain ground to the top 2 riders but could not find any way past Rubini, who instead managed to gain the first position at 3 laps to go and win his third race of the season.
In the second race Van De Moosdijk led the first two laps before Rubini took over and controlled the race from up front. Forato came from fifth position on lap one to move into fourth on lap two and then third on lap three, a place he would remain for the rest of the race.
Rubini was stunning, winning just ahead of Van De Moosdijk, with Forato some 38 seconds back in third followed by Sydow and KTM Junior Racing’s Rene Hofer.
Honda Redmoto Assomotor’s Stephen Rubini has once again shown his hard pack skills with a stunning 1-1 result to win the EMX250 overall in Germany. F&H Racing Kawasaki’s Roan Van De Moosdijk finished second overall with 2-2 scores and third was Team Maddii Racing Husqvarna’s Alberto Forato, who finished with 2-2 results.

On lap four Guyon moved into third place when he passed WZ-Racing’s Simon Laengenfelder, and then into second place after passing Gwerder on lap nine.
Coming from six on lap one to move into second on lap eight was an amazing effort from the French rider. Eventually it was Maddii Racing Husqvarna rider Mattia Guadagini who took the win on Guyon and Gwerder controlling the whole race from up front
In the second EMX125 presented by FMF Racing race it was Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Kay De Wolf who led into the opening lap, behind him came Laengenfelder, Guyon, A1MHusqvarna’s Jorgen-Matthias Talviku and Gwerder. De Wolf maintained the lead as positions up front remained the same while Liam Everts had an excellent path in sixth position.
On lap nine De Wolf was getting some pressure and after holding a four second lead early, Laengenfelder was just a little more than a second behind and started putting pressure on the Dutch rider followed by Guyon, Talviku and Gwerder while Everts was still in sixth place.
De Wolf slipped over in a corner and Laengenfelder and Guyon both went past, then De Wolf struggles to start his bike and dropped way back and out of the top five.
Impressive ride by Guyon who took advantage and he started closing up on Laengenfelder for the race win, he eventually succeeded in the final lap in a sensational race win and the overall victory.
The Frenchman Tom Guyon from Team VRT won to his French victory a month ago. With 2-1 results he was too strong for local rider Simon Laengenfelder who finished second overall with 4-2 and third overall was KINI KTM Junior Pro Team’s Mike Gwerder with 3-3.
Maddii Racing Husqvarna rider Mattia Guadagnini who still leads the series points, finished 13th in second race due to a bad start and a bike issue which made him loose a bunch of positions. He managed anyway to finish the race rounding up the Top 4.
