European 125 cc Youth Track Racing Cup at Divisov (Czech Republic)

The town of Divisov, Czech Republic hosted the European 125cc Youth Track Racing Cup, which was held in front of around 200 spectators. The meeting was run with sunny, warm weather. 19 riders took part to the event. Thanks to work of the local organizers, the track was ready for a perfect competition and the spectators could see a very good race. The winner was Jaroslav Vaniček ahead of Bruno Belan. Šachl Vojtĕch claimed 3th place after a brave attack on the last bend of the final heat when he defeated Sam McGurk (ACU). All the riders on the podium are from Czech Republic.

European Sidecar Championship Final at Werlte (Germany)

The 3,500 spectators, who attended the European Sidecar Championship Final at Werlte in North Germany, were treated to an exciting evening of close racing, although the meeting did take a little longer than originally scheduled. Despite extensive track watering during the preceding week, the very hot and humid conditions made it difficult for the organising club to maintain an ideal race surface as the meeting progressed. Following a discussion between the riders and the FIM Europe Jury members, additional track grading and watering sessions were added to the night’s schedule and this enabled the riders to race at speeds approx 120 km/h on the 540 metre oval. With each of the 12 Sidecar teams competing in four qualifying heats – before earning their place in one of two Finals (B and A) – racing was always going to be hard and fast. Speedway Euro Championship at Daugavpils (Latvia) – Entry list

Olegs Mihailovs will take part in the third round of Tauron Speedway Euro Championship at Daugavpils, in Latvia - the organizers, in fact, gave him a wild card for competition in his hometown. Olegs Mihailovs is 19 year old rider. This season the Latvian is riding for Lokomotiv Daugavpils in the Polish 1st division. Fans had a chance to see Mihailovs in action in the first U21 World Championships final, held in Daugavpils, too. Also for that competition, the organizers gave him a wild card, and the young rider scored 12 points and finished 4th in the final. The Latvian is also fighting in the European Junior Championships, and he has been promoted to final. European U21 Individual Speedway Championship at Rivne (Ukraine)

The city of Rivne, in Ukraine, hosted the first Semi-Final of U21 European Individual Championship. Over 6000 spectators were present during the meeting. The winner was Igor Kopec-Sobczynski from Poland ahead of Jan Kvech from Czech Republic and Wiktor Lampart from Poland. Next qualifiers were Patrik Wojdylo from Poland in 4th position and Oleg Michajlovs from Latvia. As a reserve, Nick Skorja from Slovenia. European Individual Grass Track Championship at Wittstock (Germany)

The Semi-Final 1 of the Individual Grasstrack European Championship was held at Wittstock, in Germany, in front of around 1500 spectators. It was a spectacular meeting with lot of overtakes and in really nice, sunny weather. Considering that the meeting was taken over on short notice, the organisation was smooth and well prepared and the event had a duration of 2 h 12 min. The track was well prepared and all the riders had a good chance to qualify for the final round in Tayac (France) – which was possible only for the first 9 riders. In most of the races there was tight fight and the final positions were not defined until the chequered flag. The winner was Josef Franc from Czech Republic ahead of Mathieu Tressarrieu, and Dimitri Berge, both from France. Individual Speedway Euro Championship at Terenzano (Italy)

Emil Sayfutdinov won the SEC Challenge, which was held in Terenzano, Italy, in front of around 1.300 spectators, in a sunny day. The Russian rider is one of 5 riders, who got promoted to this year’s Speedway Euro Championship series and this list included also Mikkel Michelsen (Denmark), Jozsef Franc (Czech Republic), Andrey Kudriashov (Russia) and Peter Kildemand (Denmark). The first two series of the meeting were a chain of crashes and exclusions. However, fans gathered at the MC Olimpia Terenzano venue, couldn’t complain about lack of fight on the track. There were some spectacular clashes with Antonio Lindbaeck and Kai Huckenbeck, but none of them was able to reach the promotion. Individual Speedway Euro Championship at Gorican (Croatia)

It was a superb meeting with many riders on equal points fighting for “Last chance” heat. Weather was perfect for an evening race, track was very well maintained and provided excellent racing. The winner Andriy Karpov from Ukraine ended second in the regular part after 20 heats behind his countryman Aleksandr Loktaev, but he managed to be at his best in the semifinal, where Loktaev conquered the second place. Local favourite Jurica Pavlic gave the crowd something to cheer about with his spirited ride, securing the spot, firstly in the last chance heat and then conquering the third place in the semifinal which leads to the ECC. Individual Speedway Euro Championship at Debrecen (Hungary)

In sunny, hot weather, the Semi-Final 3 of the Individual Speedway Euro Championship was held at Debrecen, in Hungary, in front of around 2.000 spectators. The event finished with three Danish riders on the podium: Mikkel Michelsen won ahead of Peter Kildeman and Nikolai Klindt. Since only two riders from the same Federation can go forward to the Final, Josef Franc from Czech Republic will do his access to the event instead of Klindt. The final will take place at Lonigo, in Italy, on May 5th.

Speedway European Championship at Lublin (Poland)

Krzysztof Kasprzak won the final round of Speedway European Championship, which took place in Lublin. Andrzejs Lebedevs became the new Individual European Champion. Silver medal for Artem Laguta, ahead of Vaclav Milik (photo2). Andreas Jonsson and Krzysztof Kasprzak earned the right to stay in the cycle. The first fight of the day took place between Krzysztof Kasprzak and Mateusz Szczrepaniak – the two riders fighting for the right to stay in the cycle. The latter was quite lucky, because Smolinski, going for the 3rd place at the moment, had a problem; thanks to that, Szczepan earned one point. The second heat welcomed Lebedevs, Milik and Laguta, all of them fighting for the highest positions in the general standing. European Under 21 Team Speedway Final at Krosno (Poland)

The meeting of the Individual U21 Team Speedway Championship was originally scheduled on August 19th but it was postponed because of heavy rain after heat five. On Saturday September 16th, due to heavy rain that lasted till midday the practice scheduled for 10.00 was cancelled. After some heavy work the organising club KSM Krosno managed to prepare a raceable track for the meeting. In a fully crowded stadium, attractive rides from Speedway upcoming riders were held. The Polish U21 team confirmed their role of favorites for winning the team title but the contest for the European U21 team title was hard. The fight for the second place was decided in the last heat. The final results of the meeting see Poland winning with 45 points, ahead of Denmark scoring 35 and of Latvia, with 33 points.
