European Supermoto SM85 and S3 Championships in Pleven (Bulgaria)

Can Oncu (65) and his brother Deniz, leaders of the SM85 class The all asphalt SuperMoto circuit of Pleven in Bulgaria hosted the second round of the European SuperMoto Championship for the classes SM85 and S3. As usual the track offered perfect conditions for racing and the standard extreme temperatures of 40°C.The SM85 class this season is dominated by the Turkish twins Deniz and Can Oncu who proved to be the top class SuperMoto riders. Their podium in Pleven was not a surprise at all, however the two brothers repeated the Arad scenario from Round 1 and shared one win and one second place each in both heats.Deniz Oncu won the second heat ahead of his brother Can Oncu. The fight for third position as usual was until the last lap: this time local rider Dimitar Petrov struggled in the battle with the Turkish Bahattin Sofuoglu and following a crash

European Supermoto S2 Calendar Update

The European Supermoto S2 Championship has been updated: the event in Tabasalu (EST), scheduled on 30th August has been cancelled and will not be replaced. Other changes in bold in the 2015 updated calendar below: the event in Italy, scheduled on 26th April, will be held in Ottobiano; on 7th June the event will be held in Poznam in Poland; the event originally set to take place in Jesolo (Italy) on 20th September, will now be held in Melk (Austria).   The updated calendar has now been changed to the following:

Last round of Supermoto EC in Jesolo (Italy)

The last round of 214 FIM Europe Supermoto European championship took place in Jesolo (Italy). With three riders in battle for the 2014 championship title a tough battle was expected. And the expectations come true. Finn Toni Klem (KTM) set the best time in Time practice on saturday, with Italian Fabrizio Bartolini (Honda) just behind him. And both faster than championship leader, Finn Asseri Kingelin (Aprilia). In race one there was a big battle in the first corners and Bartolini took the lead. On the second place was Klem and on third Slovenian Uros Nastran (TM). Two laps to go Nastran overtook Klem, who then crashed on the off road part, but still manage to pick up the bike and finished third, just in front of Kingelin. FIM Europe Supermoto European Championship in Tabasalu (Estonia)

The sixth event of the FIM Europe Supermoto European Championship Class SM2 has been disputed on the track of Tabasalu (Estonia). The circuit and its facilities are excellent, a partly sunny day has welcomed all the participants. In the first heat the Finnish rider Toni KLEM (KTM), started form the first place after getting the pole position in the day of Saturday, was able to achieve the hole shot and to lead the race from the start to the chequered flag. In second position finished the Czech rider Milan SITNIANSKY ( TM) after a big duel solved in his favour four laps before the end with the Italian rider Fabrizio BARTOLINI (Honda) who finished third. Supermoto EC in Castelletto di Branduzzo(Italy)

Sunny Italy welcomed the European SuperMoto riders in the all asphalt circuit of Castelletto di Branduzzo, offering a one day event in extremely hot conditions, typical for the season. Race 1 of the SM2 for the GP of Europe began not in the best way for the winner of the pole position Yuri Guardala from Italy. Due to outside assistance at the grid he was disqualified from the race in question. However, the Italian performed at a top level and at the second race he proved his style and ambitions this season. Beautiful track of Autodrom Ceska Lipa in Sosnova (Czech Repulic) was the host of the third round of the European Supermoto SM2 Championship. Riders from eight different nations gathered to race in front of more than 5.000 spectators that filled the tribunes. Czech rider Milan Sitniansky (TM) managed to defend his pole-position after the start in front of Italians Yuri Guardala (Honda) and Fabrizio Bartolini (Honda). Finish rider Toni Klem (KTM) and Dutch rider Devon Vermeulen (TM) started to battle it out even from the first lap, Vermeulen managing to win two positions in only one lap, after passing both Klem and Bartolini. Start of the Supermoto 85cc EC in Pleven (Bulgaria)

The second round of the European SuperMoto Championship SM85 and SM3 was organized on the all asphalt circuit of Pleven in Bulgaria. Having in mind the awful weather throughout the weekend, the circuit proved to be a top SuperMoto facility in all weather conditions and a fun playground for those who really do not fear the concrete tabletops and kiwi waves. In class SM85, "the magnificent four" - Hakan Halmi (KTM, Bulgaria), Maximilian Kofler (Husqvarna, Austria) Can Oncu (KTM, Turkey) and Deniz Oncu (KTM, Turkey) made a top notch performace and defined new boundaries of what SuperMoto in the Junior class should be. Max Kofler won the first race in the class, followed by Hakan and the two Oncu brothers, Can - third and Deniz fourth. In the second race, Hakan won with less than a second gap from Max, third, at 0,3 seconds behind was Can, followed by Deniz.

Supermoto European Championship returns in Arad (Romania)

The second round of the European SuperMoto Championship was organized on the circuit of Arad, Romania, after ten year of absence in the calendar. The previous event was organized in 2004. In class SM2, Devon Vermulen (NED) with TM won both heats and kept the red plate of the Championship leader with fourth consecutive win since the beginning of the series this year. In Romania, Devon was followed by Yuri Guardala (ITA) with Honda, who saw the chequered flag in both heats at the second positions. The third place on the podium was occupied by Toni Klem (FIN) with KTM. In class SM85, Hakan Halmi (BUL) with KTM won both heats in the opening event of the season for the Junior riders Hakan was followed on the second place of the podium by the rider Simon Winter (DEN) with Honda who shared the same amount of points with Can Oncu

Start of the Supermoto European Championship in Rivesaltes (France)

Season 2014 could not have had a better start for the European Supermoto Championship - Class SM2 than it had in Rivesaltes (France) this weekend! Thirty European riders gathered on "Grand Circuit du Roussillon" to compete against each other in the search of the win and ultimately the European Champion title. All spectators present were in for some exceptional racing, groups of five-six riders battling it out to the limit through-out the pack. Qualified in pole-position for the first time, Czech Milan Sitniansky (TM) could not yet resist the pressure of the first place and was passed by four riders right from the start of the race. First to lead was Italian Fabrizio Bartolini (Honda), followed by Dutch Devon Vermeulen (TM) and Finnish riders Asseri Kingelin (Aprilia) and Toni Klem (KTM).
