European Talent Cup – a change in the technical rules

European Talent Cup
The FIM Europe has published a change in the ETC technical rules. The section of the European Talent Cup technical regulations that has been modified is: 5.6.9.4 Rear suspension unit: e. The total length of the shock absorber must remain between the limits recommended by the manufacturer for the homologated motorcycle. (Max length between mounting holes centers is 312 mm). Supermono European Cup at Rijeka (Croatia)

Podium Race 2 Grobnik Supermono European Cup
The second racing weekend of the Supermono European Cup took place at Grobnik in Croatia. The weekend started with free practice sessions already on Friday. The weather wasn’t the best, there were a storm passing by, so almost every tent in the pit where broken, and some bikes fell over. Saturday (with a lot of sun) had 2 qualification rounds where Shaun Anderson from Irland and Josef Frauenschuh from Austria was the fastest riders on the track together with Daniele Scagnetti from Italy. During the weekend, the Supermono European Cup had 3 races consisting of 8 laps each. In the first race Shaun Anderson took an early lead with Josef Frauenschuh hunting him down and also passed him. After only 5 laps the race was stopped due to a rider crashing, because his motorbike leaked some oil. The race counted as completed and full points were awarded. The winner of

European Street Freestyle Cup at Budapest (Hungary)

The first event of the new discipline in FIM Europe was organised in the context of the European Truck Championship at Hungaroring circuit near the Hungarian capital Budapest in front of around 1.200 spectators. The foreseen interest of the riders was higher than the number of participants – 16 - but the attending riders made a really great show for the spectators. The racing system of this discipline divided the event into 3 parts: 1st - compulsory program with basic tricks; 2nd - nest trick and the 3rd and final - five minutes-long free program. All the riders had made their best in the competition in all 3 sections. The Finals were divided into two parts both with 8-8 riders. The first group showed their program in beautiful weather but at the middle of the second group sudden rain stopped the competition. Thanks to the organising staff within one hour

Road Race Hill Climb European Championship at Julbach (Austria)

The third of six rounds of Road Race Hill Climb European Championship was held at Julbach, in Austria, in a sunny, warm day, on a perfectly prepared track, ahead of around 8000 spectators. On Sunday there were no crashes but a fair fight. In 250GP the fastest was Guido Testoni (ITA) on his Honda. In SSP very hard fight between Daniele Stolli (ITA) and Uwe Rademacher (SUI). They have the same points after this event but they both overtake Rafael Neuner after his crash in FP. Christian Wiesinger-Mayr (AUT) of Superbike class won an event with the new track record in 1:05,766 s. and average speed 140,7 km/h. Second was Wolfgang Gammer ahead of Andreas Gangl, all from Austria. In SuperMoto the winner was Josef Frauenschuh, ahead of Phillip Neumuller and Florian Winkler, all from Austria In 250GP Guido Testoni increases his advantage; we have a new leader in Supersport

Andreas Perez passes away

Andreas Perez
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Andreas Perez Manresa, following an incident during Round 4 of the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ World Championship at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Perez was a standout performer in the 2017 European Talent Cup, taking two wins and a number of further podiums during the season to end the year in fourth. For 2018, he had moved up to the Moto3™ Junior World Championship, competing with the Reale Avintia Academy team. The Spaniard was involved in an incident during Round 4 of the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ Junior World Championship and later succumbed to his injuries. The incident happened in the second race of the day for the Moto3™ category, with the red flag shown immediately. European Superstock 1000 at Brno (Czech Republic) – Day1

Marcus Reiterberger (alpha Racing- Van Zon-BMW) was yet again unstoppable in the European Superstock 1000 Championship, keeping his good momentum going from Friday into the Saturday qualifying round. The German was half a second faster than the riders following him, and could be on course for an amazing fourth race win of the season. He will face competition from Maximilian Scheib (Aprilia Racing Team) however. The Chilean has proven to be a tough competitor to the leading rider’s authority, and starting from second on Sunday’s grid will fancy his chances at recording a first win this year. Roberto Tamburini (Berclaz Racing Team) finished qualifying in third place, meaning that Sunday’s front line will be completed by the same riders that rose to the rostrum at Donington Park in the previous round. European Hill Climb Championship at Spoleto (Italy)

In the beautiful surroundings of Spoleto (Italy) the second round of European Hill Climb Championship was held ahead of 600 spectators. The whole event was in a very friendly "Italian lifestyle" atmosphere, together with the FMI National Championship. The riders taking part to the European series were 23. The free practices were held on Friday without any serious problems as well as the official practices and qualications on Saturday and today. The races took place in two heats for all riders under good weather conditions for the first race while it was wet for the second race. The winners of the day in the European Championship Classes are: Class 250 GP - Guido Testoni (FMI); Class Supersport 600: Davide Lignite (FMI); Class Superbike 1200: Jean Luc David (FFM); Class Supermoto: Philippe Bongard (FMS). European Supersport Cup 300 at Poznan (Poland) – Day 2

Also on Sunday the Polish track welcomed the riders with sunny weather and 28 degrees. From the beginning to the end three riders battled for the victory. The first two ended the race with a difference of only 0,003 sec at the finish line, with Simon Lukas from Czech Republic (photo1) winning ahead of Taric van der Merwe from South Africa (photo2). European Supersport Cup 300 at Poznan (Poland) – Day 1

Today the qualifying practice and Race 1 of European Supersport Cup 300 were held at Poznan, in Poland, in the context of the second event of the Alpe Adria International Championship at TOR Poznan. On Friday the two free practices for European Supersport 300 Cup were held under good weather conditions. Today the qualifying practice ended up with the pole of Balint Gyor from Hungary. Second place for Taric Van Der Merwe from South Africa and Simon Lukas. The race ended after a very close struggle between Van Der Merwe and Lukas, who passed below the checkered flag with a gap of 0,3 seconds after 11 laps. Third place for Lennart Ulbel. Supermono European Cup at Brno (Czech Republic)

The first round of Supermono European Cup was held at Brno, in Czech Republic. Thankfully after the promoter of the series quit last year ESA took the organisation of the series for 2018. It was their first ever event beside a club event at Brno Circuit. The organiser made its best job, with 18 entries and 16 riders on the grid. Hopefully the number of the riders will increase because the category is very exciting. Here were some present very special "home-made" bikes together with the Krämer Motorcycles based on KTM engine or the factory KTM bikes. The pole position was taken by Mr. Thomas Mair from Austria during the Qualifying Practice on Saturday. In race1 held on Saturday the winner was Jerry Van den Bunt (KMNV) ahead of Josef Frauenschuh (AMF) and of Jürgen Pirstner (AMF). On Sunday 2 more races were held. In the first one Jerry Van
