European Moto2 and Talent Cup at Jerez (Spain) – Day1

Edgar Pons (AGR Team) in Moto2™ (photo1) and David Salvador (Cuna de Campeones) in the European Talent Cup (photo2) took the poles in their respective categories in the latest round of the FIM CEV Repsol at the Circuito de Jerez. Gabriel Durán (Centro Moto) took pole and won the first race of the European Kawasaki Z Cup. Héctor Garzó (Team Wimu CNS) posted the best time in the Moto2™ European Championship, a 1:42.513 achieved in QP1, beating Edgar Pons by just 13 thousandths. However, the Wimu CNS Team rider suffered a 12-position penalty for a technical irregularity related to his bike, leaving first place to the AGR Team rider. In the end, Lukas Tulovic (Team Wimu CNS), third in the qualifying session, will start second followed by Jesko Raffin (Swiss Innovative Investors Junior), who suffered a hard fall on Friday. European Superstock 1000 Championship no longer to continue into 2019

FIM Europe and Dorna WSBK Organization have announced that as of 2019 the European Superstock 1000 Championship will no longer be part of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship. After 19 seasons of successful racing in around Europe, with 17 different champions and six different manufacturers taking titles in the class, the decision to not continue the series, has been made following the evolution of technical regulations in WorldSBK over recent years. Looking ahead to the future, the removal of the STK1000 category from the WorldSBK paddock will bring more value to national STK championships around Europe. European Supersport 300 Cup Technical Rules Update

In conjunction with FIM, the following balancing regulations have been updated and will be applied from and including Round 6 at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben (D) for European Supersport 300 Cup and Class Alpe Adria Supersport 300: Yamaha YZF-R3A (2018 Year Model, Euro 4) can use the inlet camshaft and cam sprocket of the Yamaha YZF-R3 (pre 2018 Year Models, Euro 3). Part numbers: • Intake camshaft: 2MS-E2170-01 • Cam sprocket: 1WD-E2176-00 No other parts can be exchanged between the different homologations of the Yamaha YZF-R3 and YZF-R3A.

European Supermono Cup at Oschersleben (Germany)

The last round of FIM Europe Supermono Cup was held at Oschersleben. Josef Frauenschuh arrived as the leader of the general standings and he confirmed his good state of form in qualifying practices, even if the pole position went to Jerry van den Bunt, who however was absent in Grobnik and lost many points in the general classification. The first race started on wet/dry (mixed) track surface but many riders opted for wet tyres. After the race all wet tyres were almost destroyed but there were no serious crashes. After very emotional fight the winner was Jerry van den Bunt. In this race he showed that the classification of the European Supermono Cup 2018 was still open. European Mini Bike Road Racing at Franciacorta (Italy)

This year’s meeting has been a great success with 109 riders from 14 different Nations participating. The scene was the Autodromo di Franciacorta in Italy and with clear skies and warm and dry weather this excellent venue with two different tracks – one for MiniMoto and one for Mini GP – set the ideal frame for three days of racing and friendship. The Mini Bike racing is for children from 7 years and for many of the participants it was an inspiration and education to be part of the friendly but strict atmosphere associated with a European Championship. The Italian riders held the home track and they had strong results in all of the MiniMoto classes as well as in the Mini GP class. European Moto2, Superstock 600 and Talent Cup at Aragon (Spain) – Day2

Edgard Pons (AGR Team, photo1) won both races in the Moto2™ European Championship and José Antonio Rueda (Talent Team Estrella Galicia 0,0) and David Muñoz (Jerez Andalucía Motor Talent) shared the victories in the European Talent Cup (photo2). Edgar Pons collected his first win of the season in the Moto2™ ECh after going solo in the opening laps. The AGR Team rider crossed the line more than two seconds ahead of Jesko Raffin (Swiss Innovative Investors Junior) while Héctor Garzó (Team Wimu CNS) finished third more than 11 seconds behind the winner to secure his first podium of the season. Alessandro Zetti (Fau55 Racing) was the best classified in Superstock 600. Edgar Pons received the Repsol free fuel cheque. European Supersport 300 Cup at Grobnik (Croatia)

The 4th round of the European Supersport Cup was held at Grobnik, in Croatia together with the Alpe Adria International Championship event. On the brand new surface of the Grobnik track the riders were faster than before, notwithstanding typically Croatian Summer weather conditions. The Saturday practice was held without any hard problem and the qualifying result is: Roman Kucera from Slovakia (photo1) ahead of South African Samuel Lochoff and of Michal Búlik from Slovakia (photo2). In Race1 the final ranking saw Kucera ahead of Búlik and Lochoff. In Race2 the podium saw Búlik winning ahead of Lochoff and of Vojtech Schwarz from Czech Republic. In both days the races were spectacular and satisfied the around 3000 spectators who attended the event even though the weather was very hot. José Antonio Rueda (Talent Team Estrella Galicia 0.0) in the European Talent Cup made his debut as poleman in the fifth round of the FIM CEV Repsol this weekend in MotorLand Aragon, as did Edgar Pons (AGR Team) on his return this season to the Moto2 European Championship. In Moto2™ EC, Edgar Pons (AGR Team, photo1) secured his first pole of the season, breaking Jesko Raffin’s (Swiss Innovative Investors Junior) two-pole streak with a time of 1:53.675. Category leader Jesko Raffin finished second and Héctor Garzó (Team Wimu CNS), third. Very few riders improved on the times achieved in the morning session. Lukas Tulovic (Team Wimu CNS), Tommaso Marcon (Team Ciatti) and Miquel Pons (Bullit) will be looking to get back on the podium from the second row of the grid, taking advantage of the absence of Augusto Fernández, who has been on the podium in each race so far,

European Superstock 1000 Championship at Misano (Italy)

Markus Reiterberger (Alpha Racing-Van Zon-BMW) rode to another spectacular win in the European Superstock 1000 Championship, increasing his championship lead to 14 points with just two rounds to go. The German was unstoppable from lights to flag at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, taking his fourth win of the campaign ahead of Maximilian Scheib (Aprilia Racing Team) and Riccardo Russo (Motocorsa Racing). As the lights went out it was a stunning start for Reiterberger as he looked as comfortable as always on his BMW machine, never looking back once he got away from the line. But his competitors were on the hunt for the podium, as Scheib kept one eye on the championship standings looking for second position.
